A year ago SIL was diagnosed with breast cancer. Double mastectomy, chemo, radiation, the whole nine yards.

She had her final reconstructive surgery done a couple of weeks ago and on Thursday she developed an infection. She's okay, she's home on antibiotics and resting but the doctor had to clean out the infection and take the implant out, put in a drain, all that fun stuff. After the infection is gone she will go back to square one with the reconstruction on the left side.

If you could spare any good thoughts for her I'd appreciate it. She's been through a lot and was looking forward to this holiday season and being healthy. If she heals well, with no complications, all should be okay.

Thank you, SI friends.

She has come such a long way and she is discouraged by the setback, as we all are. Last year's holidays were sad and scary, and this year we will make them great no matter what. After the new year she will go in for more surgery.

I appreciate the prayers very much .

Sending mojo for your SIL. I know it's been a terribly hard year for her, and for your family. It's almost over. She'll be well again soon and this year will be a year to celebrate.
