Finished writing and addressing all my cards last night during the football game I had to keep walking away from. (Go Cocks, by the way).

On a slightly more serious note, I want y'all to know that as I addressed and wrote each card, I prayed for the recipients. Just wanted y'all to know that you were thought of and prayed for last night.

Yesterday afternoon/evening, our power was out...so I finished addressing and writing cards.

And then I let Teslet put the glitter in. We got about half the cards glitterfied...I read each user name on the card to him and I just want you to know that if you have 'sad', 'pain', or 'hurt' or any other sad sounding word in your username, Teslet felt that you needed extra glitter to cheer you up.

I couldn't help but laugh as I hit the post office and mailed out my cards, there was a trail of glitter everywhere.lol.

I just hope I did it all correctly. They should be there in a week, in a puff of glitter.

Eeek, ninebark! I think you are in the Maritimes and it takes a week! Must get mine sent. I hope it won't take a week from T dot.

^^^^Awww! What a cutie!
My girls' job was to seal and put a sticker on the envelopes and they read all the names. Very confusing for them that I didn't have real names or addresses for the people so I explained a little that I was just sending out cards to people for fun at Christmas. We had a blast.

On a slightly more serious note, I want y'all to know that as I addressed and wrote each card, I prayed for the recipients. Just wanted y'all to know that you were thought of and prayed for last night.

^^^Awww! Thank you.
I wish I would have had the courage to venture into Fun & Games before this so that I could have participated when I was feeling more blue than I am now.
This is just what the doctor ordered for me.

So.Much.Fun.

Yours is one of the three lumpy cards I finished…and I went easy on the glitter. Others do not exhibit the same restraint with glitter. Or spiders.

Yay, Lyonesse, I am getting one card for sure!! Woot!!

Yup I am in the Maritimes. I asked the girl how long it would take to get to Texas and she confirmed a week. So better get on that

There have been some very nice sentiments in this thread to counter all that spider talk

Ours are complete. We sat up listening to Charlie Brown Christmas Music (Vince Guaraldi Trio) which was a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. Well, that and glitter.

Vulcan...

You don't need a return address. DS said the cards rarely get lost.

Should this be the return address I put on the cards or leave the return address empty and you guys will put that on there too?

Oh my, I need to get cracking on them cards. They have been sitting in my office for about 3 weeks now.

I would recommend not using SI as the return address for some participants may not want that detail known. Most people in the past did not put a return address on their cards.

About return addresses:

In the world of the military, there is a term called "OPSEC", which means Operations Security. It's part of an overall strategy based on preserving private information.

This is an anonymous website. If you were to put return addresses on your cards, you'd be exposing your private information to each and every recipient.

This is most likely harmless, but why do it?

Assuming everyone gave the correct address information to SI, each card will be legible, correctly addressed, and have proper postage.

Return address information is just so the post office can deal with those illegible, misaddressed items.

As Moo pointed out, putting SurvivingInfidelity.com on the return address would also be bad OPSEC for the recipients.

About signing cards:

I am not overly concerned, any more, about my anonymity. But even when I was, I didn't have any problem signing my first name on the cards. That's because I have one of the most common first names in the USA.

I usually sign them "<my first name> (TrustedHer)".

All the above is my personal opinion, but it's colored by 20 years as a DOD contractor dealing with secure information.

Take care of yourself. There's a great future out there. It won't come to you; you have to go to it.
