HFSSC,

If you have a party store, they often carry confetti (the sparkly kind). One year I think someone made their own confetti out of colored paper - that was also festive! And almost as messy.

We had a lot of fun getting these done, as evidenced by the pic:)
Unagie, yours is in the stack!

Ok y'all....

Last year I was so touched by the card exchange. It was a hard year. It meant so much to get all those cards. Even my kids loved them!

So, I immediately began thinking of THIS year's cards. I had this great, fantastic idea. I decided I was going to cross stich every single person a Christmas ornament to go in their card this year! I had it all planned out last January.

Well....I remembered that idea right about Halloween.

So....I DID manage to MAKE cards this year, so if anyone gets a slightly wonky one, I apologize in advance! I've got them all made, half of them glittered and sealed. I will have the rest done by Tuesday to go in the mail on Wednesday.

I'm sure when I get this years treasure hoard I will immediately tear up and dream up some wonderful grandiose idea for next year! I'll let you know what that is when I remember it in, oh, October or November!

Love you guys, and love the cards. Best. Idea. Ever! (That's a holiday "air kiss"...)

I'm Happy, not Sad!

Well I am up ... and starting my cards ... I should have then done before I have to get ready for work at 330pm ... This includes all the time I will be watching tv, playing on the net, trying to find somewhere just a little bit above freezing to smoke, and just the general laziness that makes up a BB Sunday .....

I do procrastinate well

I can't find glitter anywhere in my neck of the woods, unless I'm just looking in the wrong places. There are gallons of glitter glue, but no plain glitter. I don't have a Michael's or similar store nearby...closest is 25 miles away. But I may end up hitting that if the super Walmart doesn't have it.

Your Super Walmart should definitely have loose glitter -- that's where I ended up getting mine, in the arts & crafts dept. There were different package options to choose from, so I got a nice selection already in shaker jars There are also tons of glitter glue products in the same area, but you'll see plain unglued glitter, too .

I apologize in advance ... several of the cards may have an over abundance of glitter ... I was glittering while I was watching the Chiefs play ...

So those of you with user names from jpapa on

Wahoo, finished up last night! Heading to the post office this afternoon.

If anyone gets a card from me with random ink splotches in middle of the words my apologies in advance. I discovered glitter kinda gums up the pen as you write. I didn't even buy extra glitter, it's just from the cards

booger bear,

Since you included too much glitter, I won't include any. I don't mind receiving it, but really, my gut says I should be kept from having glitter around. I mean, I still have bubble wrap from 1992....

TrustedHer, I came here expressly to find out about how to sign my cards. Thanks for sharing your approach.

Unagie, I hope you feel better.

DS, I'm not sending you anything but stamped, filled envelopes - no stuff that you might think is nasty at all.

Box of cards mailed today. Realized when I got to the post office that I forgot to tape the envelope edges of the first few cards...and glitter is leaking out of them...alot of glitter...

Put them in the mail today! I haven't done that much taping and licking and sticking and confetti-ing since my kids were little! Chore for tonight: vacuum all the stray sparkles.

Saturday I was squarely in the middle of a 3 day funk. It was the first week after I moved out of the house. Handing over the cards to the postal clerk was the one single thing that pulled me out of it. Reaching out to you all made me smile and it stuck the rest of the weekend.

Also, I made mine at Staples.com. It was easy, and I'm a Druid when it comes to technology. And it came out to $1.05 a card when I ordered 100. Just a thought.

Finished mine tonight, and I wish I had taken a picture.

I was sitting at the dining room table, and using the glitter shaker as carefully as I could. I ended up with glitter all over my lap because of the way I was sitting. And all I could think of was that old urban legend about the woman who sprayed glitter on her hoo ha instead of feminine deodorant spray before going to the gynecologist.

Thanks for the well wishes guys I think I'm finally kicking this thing. And thank you to everyone who kept me on their list!! I'm so looking forward...I think my mom's going to freak as I sent the cards to her house. I wish I could take a picture when the glitter flies.
