O.M.G!!! Seriously people????
My cards just had the factory glitter on the front.
And I'm STILL all grumbly because I keep *finding* glitter on my computer and table!
*sigh* just think of me as Scrooge.
(but I definitely will be saving my SI mojo glitter.....so maybe Sybil as a moniker would be more apropos)

Go To #1 will be "Go do your homework"....if that doesn't work, the go-to will be the Secret Santa idea. (thanks NIK!) But how to explain why those people are SO OBSSESSED with glitter????????

I'm hoping that you people remembered that I'm NOT a *glitter* person, right???

Hmmmm...

I'd say throw ours directly in the trash, but you won't be able to tell who it's from... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I told dd 13 we're participating in a card exchange, and left it at that. She was still curious, but eventually left it alone.

Scrooge, honey? It's a big pile of sparkly love. Your heart will grow 3 sizes while you're opening all the cards. And your kids will be all "Oooo! Sparkly things!

My girls adore all the sparkly stuff. Heck, we still have some of last year's on our fireplace. And I've just told them I belong to a forum that does a card exchange. They're good with that. (Sadly, "Go do your homework" wouldn't have any teeth or distract them. )

Empress, I'll pay your light bill if you cover my rent. Fair, right?

nanners - I have a feeling my $90 eletric bill is slightly more affordable than your rent.

gonnabe:

Just put a large bowl in the middle of your kitchen and open the cards very slowly over the bowl. I bet you are laughing and smiling and crying before you open the second card. I know I was.

You can make it through the glitter.

I have to admit I've never been a big glitter fan either but I could really use something to smile about so I'm looking forward to being glitterized this year!!

And if it gets everywhere - which it will - and sticks to everything - which it will - it will be a great reminder of all the friends/support I have from SI.

And Aubrie is first in line to dump glitter all over you.

BTW I hope you all remembered that I am ok with glitter but I am not a chocolate or cookie or money person.

On a serious note, thank you everyone who participates in this exchange. QS and I have been having a really rough time and unfortunately things are escalating. We're really, really looking forward to the joy and happiness that these cards bring.

I sent un-glittered cards.

I plan on putting this in the bowl that I'm opening the cards over.

Good try, Moo!!

Also, I have to confess I went to the more "confetti" type this year. Don't know why...it was pretty!

AND....as I mentioned before, I had thought last year about cross stitching everyone an Xmas ornament last year, then forgot about it til late October. So...I went ahead and MADE cards this year. Then, this last weekend, I opened up the boxes with all my Xmas decorations and found the dozen boxes of glitter covered Xmas cards that I'd bought on sale after Xmas LAST year, in prep for THIS year's card exchange!!!

I must be losing my mind....

Uhmm. Whoops. Sorry.

If it makes you feel better, I went light this year.

(Though if your username is down toward the bottom, you may get just a little more than 'light'. I was tired by the time I got to the T's, so... uh... the last person on the list might want to open mine over a bathtub...)

Deeplyscared, can you let me know if mine arrived via UPS? If not it WILL be there tomorrow morning by 10.30 a.m. your time. Pretty please that you will still include it.

The UPS guys were trying to catch the overnight delivery after I told them what these cards were all about.

I have glitter at home now, in my car from transporting them and I left a bunch of glitter at the UPS store. They thought it was cool.

I went easy on the cards for the guys...

fraeuken...

I don't see your package in today's pick up, but I'll certainly go to the donation box tomorrow and Saturday just in case any late arrivals come through
