Update: just retrieved a huge stack of cards from the post office along with a package of goodies from my parents in Germany.

So, the cute guy was there. Had a big grin on his face and called me up. He holds the stack of cards in his hands and says: "There are a lot of people out there who seem to love you. And I would like to figure out why. Would you like to have a coffee sometime?" He also mentioned that their sorting station is full of glitter and that they seem to be spreading the glitter cheer to other customers as the glitter sticks to their mail.

I like his boldness, his dark eyes and big smile. He is very handsome (and I am being shallow). He is in his 40s I think so my age group. I was really set on not dating after my last experience but I could not resist. So, coffee it is later this week

I got 15 cards today!!!
In snowy Toronto.
I suspect my mail carrier is hoarding the rest. He tends to spread the deliveries out.
So happy!!!
Off to open them up (over a bowl )

Squee! That is so neat! I hope you have fun and want to see a full report after!!!!!

I can't seem to muster up the courage to open up my cards. I'm a little afraid of all the glitter. But there is glitter EVERYWHERE already, so I really don't know why I'm hesitant. Someone tell me to get myself in gear...

Frauken - how cool is that??!! Squee!!!

55 cards in the mailbox today. Teslet says that we cannot open them until tonight. Seriously, this kid is taking a page out of mom's delayed gratification handbook and it's. killing. me.

One card exploded...probably through a mail machine?

Fraeuken, I bet the cute guy told everyone else at the PO that HE would take care of that pile of glitter cards himself; hands off for everyone else! Great opening for him!

Nice that the SI glitter holiday cheer got shared where it was appreciated.

I was reading the new posts on this thread, read fraeuken's update, let loose with an "Awwwwwwwwwwww!". QS is at the other end of the couch rubbing my feet and he gives me this "What is wrong with you?"

I read him the story and he's all now.

Best story on this thread yet.

Enjoy coffee.

Yay for more card pics! They're so prettyyyyy!

SQEEEE!! Congrats Frauken!

Today I got a lone card that glitter bomb exploded at the post office. They put it in another official looking envenlope with a large plastic window. I can see the glitter dripping out of the envelope.

My mail lady already doesn't like us because my son parks in front of the mailbox. She keeps writing us nasty notes that we can't park there but it's the only place available. Where I grew up the postal people actually walked from house to house and she gets upset because she has to get out of her truck (although I think it's her bosses that get upset because if she gets out they have to pay her more.)

Go fraeuken! Such a sweet line he gave you! Glad you're going for the coffee...if nothing else, you might make a new friend!

I'm worried about the rest of my cards. Our mail service is notoriously bad...I live in a suburb of St. Louis for pete's sake...you'd think there wouldn't be problems, but there always are. Last year I didn't get about 15 cards....this year it's still about 20, including all of our Canadian friends! I will be bummed if they sit out Xmas on a shelf somewhere. It's so weird, since I know they were all mailed on the same day! Argh.

But I'm LOVING the ones I've already got!!

My cards came today! Sadly, Do3K did not take a picture of them in the tiny mailbox I only heard him say, "Holy cow! There are a ton of cards in the mail today!," as I walked into the living room. This was followed with, "You are going to open those in your office" I am pretty sure the local (small town) post office and my mailman hate me, as the PO and the mail truck are probably now covered in glitter, seeing as my table had glitter on it before I even opened the cards.

15 in and I'm not sure what is covered in more glitter...me, my desk, or the floor of the office

Four more cards today, including an absurdly bloated envelope from a certain couple *cough* tred and sandaway *cough* that has me wishing I'd been more generous in my glittering toward the end of the alphabet.
