The latest trigger was discovering last night that our 3 year old has head lice again. Last time was during A and apart from shaving his head (which AP hated) he did nothing as part of sorting it out. That was my job. Like everything else as he had withdrawn from being part of the family.
Last night was very different. He treated dd and informed ds. I'm not feeling great with triggers and was feeling distinctly unsexy with lice and insecticides. How can that compete with the excitement of an A?
I told him and he hugged me and said "this is real love and 20 million times better"
Which is helping me with my triggers today
Thanks to the head lice
Though I'm still itchy
"We're not broken, just bent. We can learn to love again."
His betrayal of me was not because I didn't shine brightly enough, but because he chose to put on blinders.

While it sucks that your DD has lice, hopefully your H being there, being supportive, and saying the kind words will take away some of the power of the trigger.
I know what you mean about the itching. Oddly enough my only two real-life recurring dreams/nightmares this past year have been the A and head lice!
On the headline front...make sure your preschool is disinfecting sleep and play mats etc. my girlfriends kids had head lice and every time it cleared up it was back within weeks. Turns out this was the reason. Good luck!
