Time for a libation and to get some down time for the holidays! Can't drink all week if you don't start on Monday

You had me at libation.

Hoping there's a shiny bottle of tasty under the tree when I get there.

Stop it, I'm getting misty eyed.

I knew there was a reason I liked you guys so much.

Peace, Brothers.

MoreWould, thank you for that post. Peace to you as well. I appreciate everyone on this thread, but I think guys like you and 1985 who bring a long-term perspective (*cough* old)to this special form of hell we share are golden. You guys can't post enough as far as I'm concerned. You've earned BM sainthood.

I am so sorry I failed my newb initiation back in November when I joined this board. Here is my round.

Sapphire and tonic with a twist or two of lime is my bullet of choice.

Just celebrated my 22nd anniversary with fWW and I am so happy. She is really, really doing everything right. Ya, I know it's only a couple of months into R but everything looks bright and is making me so happy about our relationship.

Maybe the Sapphire has something to do with it. The wife and I definitely drank a bunch and had a more than wonderful 24 hours of play. We had a room on the 14th floor of the Hyatt in Baltimore overlooking the Inner Harbor. I want to go back there every anniversary now.

Our best anniversary ever!

P.S. Yes, I am glossing over the triggers I felt. They are becoming more manageable now that I am on Zoloft. Still things are looking great.

Bobf, there are many things I'll settle for. Gin is not one of those things. Raise a glass for me and for your wife. I'm glad you are having a great time. Cheers brother.

Gin sounds like a good choice for the evening. I'll do a Tanqueray Rangpur Lime with tonic.

Sounds like things are going really well, bobf. Good to hear!

Excellent post, MoreWould. Here's to a happy and healthy holiday season for you as well.

Thank you for your replies guy's!

Here's what I'll do finally. I bought her a small gift, which isn't personalized at all (I was first planning at giving her a nice watch, or gold earrings, she'll get a case for the camera instead). The bigger gift that will be unwrapped by her is actually labelled to the whole family (Land line phone, the other one is broken). It is something that I wouldn't give actually as I usually see gifts as something special. If the phone hadn't break yesterday, I don't know what she would get instead.

Kite : I feel that she is remorseful and is thanking me that I am giving her some time to clean her mess, so I agree that I am already giving her a huge gift.

Razor : I know what you're saying. I'm buying her a gift so it won't be awkward for the kids. I also already told her that I won't be ready to celebrate Valentine's day next year as the A was going on at that time last year.

Sal1995 : You're right, I am asking her to be authentic, and I think I wouldn't myself if I was demonstrating fake attention.

5454real : I know it is encouraging, she made huge steps in the last months. If only trust was going better, it would be better for both of us. If she pursues her work, I think we'll make it into R, I just don't know when.

jjct : I play with the kids a lot, first weeks after D-day I didn't care but now, they deserve their father and quality time with him. And I also deserve quality time with them!

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Bowmore Legend versus Bowmore 12 year. Not sure which I prefer, think I will have another of each to compare.

Sal's photo Friday made me salivate. Had to buy two. On the rocks right now.

Side note, throwing a very fatty pork shoulder in the oven with carrots, onion, celery n garlic. Fatty side up, scored, some libations from Mr Jack Daniels liberally massaged into the fat, heavily salted and peppered. Then orange slices over that. Hickory chips and a little smoldering hickory charcoal beside it. Cover the whole mess with aluminum foil. 225 degrees and 14 hours from now, I'm having some pulled pork.

Don't worry, got the 20lb ham for Christmas day!

More Would, thank you! Hell, guys, thank all of you! Never *met* a better bunch. Be proud to stand with any one of you!

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. This thread goes some sad, strange, weird, uplifting, hysterical, drunken, and downright amazing places, considering the circumstances in which we've all found ourselves.

Gents I will raise a glass to ye. Happy Christmas to all.

For those struggling with the holiday. Grit your teeth. head down. and push forward. Stay away from heavy drink as it leads to bad things when you are in this state. Christmas will pass and you will be fine.

Merry Christmas mates! Here's hoping that everyone gets what they want for Christmas, and if that falls through, at least get what they need.

Since the OM will not come out and allow me to beat the living daylights out of him, a Merry Christmas for me seems unlikely.

For everyone else, hope some unexpected glimmer of delight finds you today.
