I am relatively new to SI, and I don't have access to the investigative tips yet. I'm wondering whether anyone might be able to enlighten me with regard to business cell phone accounts.

WH has stopped texting and calling AP on his personal cell phone, but I'm just wondering whether the A has gone underground.

If possible, I would like to gain access to his business cell phone call details - without his employer's knowledge. But I don't even know whether the provider (Verizon) keeps the cell phone call details on their website or not.

I'd like to ask WH to set up an online account, and show me that there are no texts or calls with AP since Dday. But if Verizon doesn't have the call details on their website, there's no point. Can anyone tell me what information is available from Verizon?

Also, does anyone know whether an employee can set up an online account for their business-provided cell phone? I don't even want the password because I realize that there will be business-related calls and his employer would consider that private information not to be disclosed.

His willingness to *attempt* to set-up an online account will speak volumes towards what information might be there. But he hasn't bought in to full disclosure and complete transparency yet.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Getting into the business phones could be a legal matter. It's not his phone, it belongs to the company so you have no legal right to see what's on the phone. What you could do is ask to see his phone when he comes in from work. Not later, but right that moment. If he unlocks it in front of you right then and there and lets you go through it might speak to whether he is using it or not for the A. If he won't give it to you or won't give it to you until the next day also speaks volumes.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Thanks 7. I think he's smart enough that he would be deleting everything immediately, before he comes home. Just in case I ask him to open the phone.

A better option would probably be installing a VAR in his vehicle.

You're right though, his willingness about getting you access to those records will speak volumes. One would assume there shouldn't be a problem with him logging on while you watch and seeing the numbers texted and called. It's not like you're listening to VMs or reading the actually texts.

He should be willing to do whatever it takes to rebuild trust.

^^^This is a really good idea. Just in case you don't know, VAR is a voice activated recorder. You can put it in his vehicle using velcro and hear his conversations while he is riding to and from work or whenever.

The VAR is a great idea and also asking to check his phone when he gets home. I know that he can delete calls and texts before he walks into the house, but you’d be surprised how really “smart” people slip up. If you don’t ask to see his phone for a few days, trust me, he’ll get forgetful and miss something - and then randomly ask him to see his phone – on the spot!

But as the other poster said – use a VAR – most people do their talking in the car – you’ll get more information that way.
