So STBX and I have come up with our separation agreement (this is needed to file jointly for divorce in our state).

We have agreed on everything and his dad has written up the agreement in a legal fashion.

I have a meeting with a lawyer tomorrow to make sure the agreement is fair and I am not missing anything.

I am trying to come up with a list of questions to ask while I am there.

Any suggestions?

Make sure you covered retirement accounts, college for any kids, car insurance for any kids, how kid expenses will be split, if one of you is keeping the house, or if it's being sold, that everything is worded correctly, how holidays with the kids will be handled, how debt will be split, that you are both off the other's cc cards as of NOW...that's off the top of my head.

Mainly, since you have already written it up, it's to make sure the legal jargon is correct. You don't want the other able to go back on the other 5 years down the road.

Looks like most everything has been listed. Make sure the life insurance is included, I never thought about it until a friend mentioned it. Good Luck!

Thanks all.

Big step. Very sad, scared, nervous, resentful. No sleeping tonight apparently
