I work customer service at a chain pharmacy. The customers have the opportunity to give reviews on the website about their visit. The manager showed me this one yesterday:

"AN is the best employee in the store. I approached her with a question while she was ringing up a customer and she politely answered me and continued to ring up her customer, giving great service to both of us. That gal deserves a raise!"

It made me smile. Still haven't gotten that raise, though .

I really enjoy it. It's a good diversion from my other job, which is much more intense. I find it relaxing, and with a few exceptions the customers are pretty nice. I try not to let them bother me. I find that if I'm nice and smile at them, their snottiness usually goes away.

Every once in awhile I get someone who is just downright mean, but I remind myself that that's about them, not me.

So often managers only hear the complaints, it's nice to know someone took the time to praise you . Maybe you can get a new name tag that says "AN, best employee, needs a raise" ???

How nice that customer took the time to recognize you.

That is pretty cool! Most of the time people are quick to remember the bad service and not the good. It is always nice to be recognized for your efforts. :)
