So, several weeks ago, we are sitting in MC and my WH says to the MC that he has always been committed to me and could only imagine spending his life and growing old with me.
So, let me get this straight...you get to sleep with a coworker for 6 years, + chase after God knows how many other skirts, but you would never leave me for any of them? Is that suppose to comfort me!??
Honestly, putting aside how mentally disturbing it sounds, you have to laugh at the cake eaters, they are certifiably insane!!!

In their minds it's a no-brainer, in ours it is bat-shit-crazy

My wife, while trying to soothe and explain how it happened said:
"Well it started with just kissing...."
Yeah, that makes it all better, something to think of with every kiss now.

I hope your MC put the proverbial "smack down" on his ass via pointing out exactly how stupid his thinking is. He can't be allowed to continue to think that way. Thinking like that allows him to avoid taking full ownership of what he did. In his mind he never stopped loving you and can down play what he did when in reality the truth is very much the opposite. He in fact likely had some very shitty thoughts about you and your M to justify doing what he did. He is just selectively choosing to paper over those thought in MC so he doesn't have to face it or your reaction to it.

I think your WH and mine were separated at birth. Same scenario, cheated for 7 years, two LTA's, two short ones and countless hookup attempts with others. Yet, he always loved me and wants to "grow old with me."
It's all part of the garbage they tell themselves to justify being a pig. It's amazing how this actually makes sense to them.

Oh yes! My Wh has said, "I've always loved you and I've always been committed to you." I told him I didn't want to hear that and if he believed that then there is no way I could ever trust him again. If he felt that way back then what changed? How will loving and being committed to me now stop him?
