Unable to skate on your own ice rink? I, too, have sympathy for you, TH, and hope your plumbing experiences/causes no problems.

Made it through storm Hercules okay (we got about 4-5" here in central PA), and here comes Ion. It's 27-degrees now, supposed to warm up tonight to 40 by morning then drop to 5 by tomorrow night. So obviously going out during the night tonight, dancing around in above-freezing temps, then crawling back under the heated blanket tomorrow is the way to go.

This is why I am so eager to move. I really do despise all this cold more and more every year...

TH - Hate to tell you this, but I am in Imperial MO and we have 11+ inches of the white stuff and the current air temp is 12 with WC's of 0- neg 10 and calling for a low temp of -8, and high of -2 tomorrow. Windy, blowing this crap all around. I just spent an hour shoveling my sidewalks, and breezeway. My H is still on the tractor doing the driveway. The piles of snow are taller than me!!!! Calling for more snow on Wednesday too.

I hope you left some heat on too. if not call a neighbor to go turn some warm water on a slow slow trickle.

We have at least a foot, here, if not more. Tomorrow will bring temps in the negative teens; schools and businesses (including both Do3K and mine) are closed. They're using the "B" word and we're under a travel warning (no travel, unless emergency related) until tomorrow, 5pm

jrc, We went to the store, on Friday, before the storm made it's way to us. Since then, we've gone through two and a half gallons of milk and an entire loaf of bread (I've had to make two additional trips to the store). I'm not sure why we are going through this stuff faster than usual (a gallon of milk and loaf of bread usually last a week) I ended up getting buns, today, when I ran to the store (early into the storm) b/c the store was out of bread If these people want bread, buns are just going to have to do until I can get another loaf of bread

Good news: I spoke with my neighbor's wife, and he was just finishing up clearing my 3400 foot driveway. So when I fly home tomorrow, I should be able to get into the farm.

It took him over 2 hours on his tractor, with temperatures near zero. I'm pretty sure it has a heated cab, but still... He's pushing 70 years old.

Bad news: When I asked "Can I give you something for this?" She told me "whatever you think it's worth."

Now I have to come up with a number. Too little, and they won't do it again. Don't want to pay too much, what with my upcoming unemployment.

Oh well. I suppose I could have worse problems.

Hey TH My H plowed on our old cub for about 3 hours on Sunday evening, and then got it stuck. We had to use the bigger H to pull it out, this was not in a heated cab, these are real old tractors. But hey Waders for Duck hunting are not only water proof, but keep you dang warm.

My point is this. Sorry ADD bad today.....
Most people who own these toys, actually enjoy getting out and doing it. My H wouldn't want any more cash than what it cost him in fuel to do a driveway for a neighbor. So I would say somewhere around $20-$30, but what he really would like would be a tray of brownies, or something like that. So hit a grocery on your way home, and whip up a batch. Most folks just want a heart felt thank you.

BTW the roads here in good ole St. Lou are still pretty bad.
