and i am a constant 'reply to this thread' button pusher......but then chicken out and delete all i typed because surely it's either to harsh, not harsh enough, not appropriate, silly - or any number of reasons.

hell, i have deleted all of this once because i thought it sounded funny....

I know i am not the only one

I usually delete mine because I decide it doesn't really contribute to the conversation in a constructive manner. I guess this thread is a safe enough place to let one of those slide!

In OT, it's okay to get a bit silly.

As for other forums, you post how you feel. It may come across as harsh sometimes, well... sometimes harsh is what's needed. Most people (if not all) know you post because you care. If you didn't, you wouldn't bother, right?

Yeah, its pretty much all forums.

Like the case of the 19 year old mooching off of mom.

I was like the only one that was like "good grief he's 19 for crying out loud. My step brother is 32 and he STILL lives at home" its hard for a 19 year old to be fully independant - its not like a switch flips the moment you graduate and try to go to college. And if you don't your first job sure as hell will not support you.

bah...

Anyway. I find that many threads i have posted on are killed by me LOL

If you *want* to try and kill a thread, head down to F&G. There's one that's right up your alley.

I don't type out and then delete threads...

I just type away and hit submit and then let the chips fall where they may.

But then... I'm an open mouth insert foot type girl IRL.

Most of the time I don't post because someone else already addressed the issue and was a lot more eloquent than I could be. However, if someone is hanging out there with no responses, I try to impart some of my hard-earned experience. When I hit submit, I think it sounds coherent, but then I re-read it and I think I sound like a simpleton. (Maybe because I am one.)

Downside? Hmm, I'd always thought having bragging rights was a *good* thing...

Read through at least the first page. You'll see that our own jrc here got props for killing the last one.

Don't delete!!! This was what I needed to hear! Lol.

Honestly, I appreciate everyone's honesty, and your thoughts are thoughts I've had - just trying to balance it all out, because honestly DS19 as a 32 yr old in my home is not happening unless there is something seriously troubled going on...lol. But, it really helps, because we are all just making it up as we go along. Your opinion is definitely always valued.

Thanks Undefinabl3, please feel free to post your thoughts, I think we all need the perspective.

((Undef)))

At Least you aren't like me and feel a need to respond to every threat that has less than 3 responses.

I am certain some people dread seeing my name appear on their posts. OH Well. Take what you like and leave the rest. Right?

I have deleted numerous threads/responses. I do it because of my insecurity. I feel that someone smarter will be along who can better help the original poster. In fact, this is my second time starting this response

You would be amazed at what my actual post count would be if I hit submit every time I posted.

You described me perfectly!!! I probably read 50+ posts a day, but obviously from my post count don't say much. Everyone else says things so much better, and I also don't feel very qualified to give any advice. I always am worried I am missing the point and will say the wrong thing.

I am so glad I am not alone!

Same here! Same here!

And if you counted every edit I do as a separate post, I might well qualify for some sort of Guinness record!

I think that is the beauty of SI the fact that not every post is "hand holding, knee patting, there, there, I understand".......
We need to hear all sides of things, sometimes need that 2x4 across the back of the head, and who better to get that from than people who have been through, or are going through what we are!
I'm sure that all of us have wallowed in our own pity and at times needed someone to wake us up and get us moving again....SI is a great place to get that....but I know it comes with love, understanding and a wealth of experience, from people who genuinely care.....like you Undefinabl3.......
