Busy time for g2gs seems to be late spring/early summer or after the 4th. Considering one this year ourselves. Waaay up in the air right now.

Riverside is just down the road from my lawn. If anyone "Treks" there, let me know.

I'd be down for the Riverside thingy, I think. It's like 4 hour drive for me.

I would be interested as long as the G2G is not just for those in R.

ANYONE is welcome as long as they are respectful to each other. I think that's the ONLY g2g guideline.

I'd be really sad if they were only open to people in R - I'd miss out on seeing some of my favorite people.

At the first g2g W & I attended, we were the only people in R, and W was the only WS. She didn't say much, but she had a good time.

Well, actually, not having to say much was part of her having fun. (There's a way to get her to talk when she has something to say, and gonnabe figured out a topic tat draws her out. )

I've only been to one g2g, and it was a blast. To be honest, I didn't pay any attention to who was a WS or a BS. Kinda just felt like we were all comrades in arms...we'd all shared a common pain, but also a lot of kinship on the site. I met some pretty damn good people, and had a lot of fun!

I'd considered organizing a g2g in my town, but it's right next door to the g2g we had in St. Louis last year....my town is just much more picturesque and fun, I think. I happen to work for my town's Convention and Visitor's Bureau, so I can get good hotel rates and organize some fun things. (Wouldn't it be fun one day to have a national [US/Canada, although other countries could do it too] SI "Convention". But secret....just call it SI....advertise it only here...).

Anyways, I'd be up for organizing one here if anyone is interested. Just west of St. Louis in St. Charles, MO. A cute little historic town on the MO River. (For anyone local, I'm talking historic St. Charles, not the county, lol). Anyone interested in one down here? Or are we thinking more the Chicago area? (Which would be fine for me as well....never been there, always wanted to go).

Grace - beautiful area. Depending on the timing, I'm very interested.

I'm more interested in something close to home or somewhere we haven't been. Been to St. Louis twice.... For a g2g in this area, I'd be happy to help organize.

T/J - When I expressed fear before my first g2g, Clarissa gave me permission to use her name. I remain grateful. If we meet in Ohio, having 2 Clarissas at one g2g may sound confusing, but I'm confident it'll be possible to tell us apart. End T/J

I'd have to break out of my shell a bit but a midwest G2G sounds fun. I live in the KC metro area.

RyeBread,

I had to break out of my shell to attend my first g2g. It has been well worth the risk.

Hey, baseball fans are all great in the Midwest. It's just that it really is hard to be not a Cards fan! 😎 Seriously, had a great time at St. Louis g2g and loved meeting people. H was a bit withdrawn but has not really read much in SI . . . I might come, though!

Moo, if you really had a shell to break out of, you must have gone at it with guns blazing! Hard to imagine you being nervous about going to a g2g, after seeing you getting those piggies painted (and I still LOVE that all the ladies at the salon were oohing and ahhing over your toes ), and then letting us play dress up with you!

Do you think we could get people dancing if we had a g2g here?? Omg that would be fun!

G&F

I was in hour 7 of an 8 hour drive and about turned around. That was way back in 2008. By the time you met me I'd been to too many g2gs to feel uncomfortable.

Depending on timing, I would be interested in this midwest shindig. St. Louis area sounds good, so does Capt Kirk's future birthplace. I live in a town of 8500 way up in nowhere Wisconsin, so everything is an adventure!

This could be doable for us too. Especially if Moo is going.

AMEN! That was part of what I meant by timing... No midwest g2g in mid March, please and thank you.
