Great steps Thessalian. It's mind-blowing when you start to see everything differently.
I think one of the things that CoD or 'fixers' don't see is that our need to help the addict not fail also impedes their chances for success. When we take on their responsibilities, they lose out on that opportunity to learn responsibility.
I've learned I've got more than enough of my own stuff to deal with to keep taking on other people's stuff. I just have to keep redirecting my focus back on my own stuff when my eyes start to wander into someone else's backyard.
