What a way to shake off the winter blues. I missed seeing the faces from last year that couldn't attend this year but at least there were no shenanigans. Lots of laughs lots of fun. So many people relaxed and chatting.

JJ - you brought the party. Always there to make us laugh. It is obvious that we need to be in the same town as the Cats were undefeated when we are partying.

WB2 - Bringing us your smile. Thanks for keeping the crazy ones in line.

Tred - what a pleasure to meet you. It was great to see you relaxed (ok probably a degree beyond relaxed) and having so much fun. But you can stop on a time and lay down some deep perspectives.

Heforgotme - congratulations on being carded. You were so giddy after that fact. I think it made your weekend. It was great to hang out with you and your husband. BBQ on Thursday night was a whole lot of fun.

Pie place - you rocked the key lime pie but why must you be 45 minutes away. Thank goodness I was dancing nearby

Lieshurt - Oh what fun we had on that educational excursion. Thank goodness you knew where beer was for some folks that needed some soothing after the Houston police thwarted our attempt.

Walkingoneggshells - (don't mess with her. Dang near beat me in arm wrestling. Stick to basketball challenges with this one)

and

Holdingtogether (although I keep wanting to say HanginTough and then that boy band song gets into my brain). I wanted to say that I loved watching how you two interact as a couple. You two are funny and playful with eachother. You look like a new young couple falling in love. Don't lose that.

WH5 and Brokenroad - always a pleasure to see you. I promise not to tell the other members that you were taking notes on their poor behaviors and generalizations and political talks. And calling each other out. Looking forward to the next g2g we run into each other.

TrustedHer - love your humor. You're fairly quiet and you sneak it in ever so seamlessly into a conversation.

MH - forever that wizard of the site. It was pretty impressive to see you take a suggestion that I thought you could incorporate and you churned quickly to find a way to implement it withing the parameters of this site. And then to add humor to it by saying "I'll be right back" as if you were off to code it.

Moo, I asked if there was a *Timeout*. I recall your response was something about biting Teddy.

What the hell did you do to get between DS & MH like that?

Yes there was a timeout but it was for a dog.

What you don't see in the picture is jj was on the other side of MH and tred should have been on the other side of DS. Since we were all causing trouble.

DS - what can one say. You heart has created the community feeling that exists on the boards and extends into real life. Thank you for hosting all of us this weekend, but be careful of planning things after consuming vodka.

inconnu - I hear that you are planning a houston g2g in July? Was that right? I need to know so I can show lieshurt that I can handle the steam sauna known as Houston. So much fun to see you again.

punky - thanks for the dances. Houston will not be able to handle our dancing awesomeness come next year.

Tracianada - usually so quiet saving her energy for either pure humor or raw wisdom. I got the dates for the next TX g2g hopefully my work schedule won't interfere.

SoulHurts - thanks for joining us. I know it was probably intimidating at first but loved seeing how you got comfortable hanging with us (Which can't be easy) by the end of the night. Hopefully we will cross paths again in the future.

Thren - always so funny. I'm glad that you came out this weekend. I loved your synopsis and I think we should hire you to be the historian of the g2gs

Knight and Knightsbff - Yay that you still came after the delays on friday. I really enjoyed the talk we had on Friday night, but not your fundraising idea from Saturday knightsbff

Overall, I had a great time and once again time passed all too quickly.

We tried hard to go to a museum but the area around the museum was congested and you couldn't make left turns anywhere. So we tried doing several rights but to no avail. Our educational experience was once again thwarted by Houston traffic and the police this time.
So after that and after having to miss a large object in the middle of a crowded highway traveling at high speeds we have up and went for lunch and beers.

I wonder if food and alcohol wasn't your goal all along....

The photos definitely made me smile - first time in 36 hours. Really - thanks!

I know I'm "weird." When it comes to business, I can walk into any room and take it over if that's what is needed. However, in my personal life and new social situations, I know I kind of take some time to feel comfortable, and I don't hide it well. That said, I did a lot of listening to all that was going on around me, and I do mean this - any intimidation you all may have picked up was due to me being truly shocked by how great a group I was around. The stories of what you've all been through and how you've persevered. The hobbies and interest that fill the spaces and make you much better, well-rounded and truly interesting people with so very much character. You all really do give me hope that I too can take this shit sandwich and make something beautiful out of it, and be the best me I have ever been.

I look forward to the next G2G and being a much more vocal presence. Thanks again to you all.

Oh, my gosh, guys... I had the worst flight home ever (well, excepting maybe that Malaysian flight. Have they found that thing yet??) We were delayed an hour and half out of Houston. Then there was horrible turbulence right after the food and drink service. There were drinks going into the aisles. Food sliding around. Laptops with soda in them. It was pretty scary for a few seconds there. Thankfully the only thing that happened to me was a splash of soda to the ankles. I'm glad to be home safe.

Working on photos right now.

So glad you had a good time and even happier that you are feeling hope. Best compliment of the weekend:

Tips for G2G newbies....

Make sure the bathroom door is REALLY locked

When someone says, "Hey, wanna get connecting rooms?"....be cautious lol

Brush up on your marksmanship (aka...skill with shots)

Bring your driver's license!

Practice enunciating.."Shut up Tred!"

Understand that dogs bark. They just do.

Understand that Moo dances. He just does.

So, so, SO much fun! Infinite thanks to our amazing hosts!
