I always joke that we are part of the Great Arctic North...little did I realize that it's kinda true Weather.com says that my city is one of the top 20 cities, in the US http://www.weather.com/news/weather-winter/20-coldest-large-cities-america-20140107

Ah this explains the greetings I got from folks there.

Good news, forecasting 36* here Sunday. That will be about a 60* temperature change. We will be wearing shorts and tee's and no coats!

No wonder I thought Miami was too warm in January!!
I felt the same way when I arrived here! Now I'm like real Californians and wear a sweater and jeans in January, in what I once considered balmy summer temperatures.
But I'd take the snow and those freezing temperatures any day over the unbearable heat of too many days in my California summer!
