I spent 4 hours (!!!) making Osso Buco with barley Milanese risotto and gremolata for dinner. My house smells like it. My hair smells like it. My S/O thinks this is great. He wants to have a dish detergent that smells like osso buco because it would make washing up "delicious".

Yum!!

I had a caramel apple from the farmers market.

FWSO had a pastrami sandwich from a local eatery.

DS had left-over steak and then his caramel apple.

I haven't had anything. Ever since I started working again (which has only been a week and two days), I haven't really been in the kitchen, at all.

I just finished all the cleaning up from our belated Christmas celebration with our adult kids and their fiancée/girlfriend, and our BF, his daughter and her bf.
We had.....
prime rib
garlic mashed potatoes
broccoli with cheese sauce
garlic buttered green beans
Yorkshire pudding

...dessert:
apple-cranberry crisp
carrot cake

...and tomorrow night H and I will enjoy the leftovers...

Your Osso Buco looks amazing, lynnm!
We went over to the St Pete Saturday market this morning and brought home lots of great vegetables, then stopped at a fish market and bought imperial red shrimp (it's only available sometimes)and ahi tuna. WH seared the tuna, I cooked the vegetables and shrimp- chocolate pie for dessert. Easy. But a caramel apple would have been nice.

Shrimp and tuna? Heaven! Now I want fresh tuna salade nicoise.

The photo I posted was my S/O's plate. He was starving. He ate all that and had seconds! Every time I cook this meal, I swear I'll never do it again. Four freaking hours start to finish. Even the gremolata on top involves chopping parsley really small, crushing and chopping a clove of garlic likewise, and taking a microplane to a lemon. S/O says it was originally designed to be full employment for Italian wives. But it tastes SO good, after about six months I forget!

I'd love to have a caramel apple for dinner. Add a little plate of cheese and I'm set. However, we actually had sandwiches from the deli when we got home from grocery shopping from the week. Mine had honey maple ham with Swiss cheese. Yummy!

Corn on the cob... first of the season

Holy moley! That's 6 months away here!

I'm having beef vegetable soup with wild rice. And maybe some ice cream for dessert.

I warmed up some Leftover Turkey Stew and the Bread we baked on Friday for supper. Not bad for leftovers.

Fajita chicken salad with black bean and corn salsa. It will most likely also be lunch tomorrow and possibly even dinner again (can you tell my H is out of town?)

Ooooh, jrc, I have completely run out of my orange pear pineapple marmalade, so I'll keep a watch for those oranges! I used my last bottle at Christmas brunch.

Chiming in a bit late in JRC's defense (caramel apple for dinner) - there is that famous motto "Life is short, eat dessert first."

excerpt from an awesome quote "Forgiveness - the finishing of old business that allows us to experience the present, free of contamination from the past."
