It's also beneficial almost immediately. I would look for a therapist tgst at us certified and trained.
Good luck (((gotmylifeback)))
Tapping is EMDR? Well, fuck. LOL I have seen the raves of EMDR here, but when my dd was having some issues which were thought to maybe be anxiety related, her doc suggested tapping and I thought that looked whack. Damn. Shit.
A former therapist of mine, who became an LCPC after a career as a physicist (his contribution to the Manhattan Project got him his Ph.D.) took a very scientific approach to therapy, and he was impressed by EFT. Some therapists I know who take a Buddhist approach to therapy are also advocates for EFT.
I've been taught the technique a couple of times, but I keep forgetting to use it.... I think it's probably good stuff, if practiced regularly.

There are lots of others.
EFT is different from EMDR, although they can cross-over since both are somatic (body) techniques. Tapping is super easy and can be done anywhere. EMDR needs a therapist to monitor, at least that's my understanding.
