Kind of a t/j but I was reading in the GC thread a/b nerd cred. I was wondering, does anyone else have photographic proof of their nerd cred? Ours aren't all from fantoms, some are just random geekery. I mainly bestow mine on my kids...I love that they don't mind being a little different as we go about our day and just wear what they like. DS used to wear his Buzz Lightyear, his Spiderman and even a Larryboy costume I made wherever we went. At 13yo he's getting a bit too big for that though.

This was for part of the Harry Potter book release parties at Borders for book 7:

This is DS's b-day:
Yes, he dressed like the 11th Doctor in public and yup, DD wears bonnets all the time.

This is the result of feeling Lego packets until I was sure I had a Shakespeare mini fig (lit major here). DS is the Lego fan...tomorrow is a big day for him. Yes, I had a photoshoot of a toy:

Halloween costumes, DS is the 10th Doctor. DD decided to wear ruby slippers since most people wouldn't get that they were supposed to be silver according to the book. These costumes were worn on days that weren't Halloween:

Another "Halloween costumes that are worn on non-Halloween days" picture. My Renn fair dress, DS is a Hunger Games competitor and DD in her custom Merida outfit...had to draft the pattern myself because none of the ones we could find were authentic enough for her. We have since learned how to curl and temp color her hair to be more like Merida:

Yes, we stopped our errands because you MUST take a picture when you see a random Delorean!

Not Halloween, she just likes wearing her poodle skirt around town:
We happened to see the car when we stopped by Panera.

So, anyone want to share their evidence of geekery/nerdism pics?

You and your children are fantastic!

There are some pics floating around somewhere of my sisters and I as Xena, Gabrielle and Iolus. That was about 15 years ago. I have no idea where they are now and my sisters would probably kill me if they ended up online

Thanks all

Crescita- that sounds much cooler than the picture I have of my mom, sisters, aunt and (female) cousins all dressed for a family reunion wearing matching red gingham dresses with pinafores.

Sad in AZ- every time we hike I hope to identify some animals, but we're just too loud. Actually hearing birds...that would be an accomplishment.

BAB61- what, no pics? I love it when parents help make their kids' imagination reality. I don't have pics either, but when DS was 4yo he wanted to be Larryboy. With "super suction ears that come off". So I made a cape and a helmet...had to create the design myself using his Buzz Lightyear hood. The ears were fastened with velcro.

For reference, here's the character he was trying to be:

No pics, but have to share...

A few weeks back my 16 year old son got stopped by campus security on his way to class. He apparently looked disreputable in his leather trench (Mal from Firefly...he wears the whole get up on random days) and the 22' long scarf I knitted him for Christmas. Lucky for him, when he walked in the security office the head of security looked up and said, "It's the Doctor." He was told to get back to class and to tell his mom she's awesome.

Kids and I are often found in whatever dress or character we feel on that given day. Halloween is just another day...we need no reason to dress as we please.

I'm sure somewhere in a box I have the pics. It was 10 years ago! No digital, so no pic on the computer. I wouldn't even know where to look. We've moved 2x since then ...
