My ex never made it a big deal anyway…nothing special to me. I just try and make it fun for my kids.
I doubt it will ever be special to me again…it is just a silly holiday.

I agree! Probably because my break up is still fresh and I still love the man. Booo.
But instead of being romanced and enjoying spoiling someone else, I'll be in the Walmart Valentine's day aisles searching for the perfect pack of class Valentines a first grade boy would want to hand out.

He never "remembered" Valentine's Day. So each year I would buy myself and then share with him and the kids a whole bunch of chocolate covered strawberries! This year, I don't have to share.
I'm going to get myself a whole bunch of pretty flowers and put them in all of the vases around the house and decorate for me! Well, the cats will enjoy them too!
I'm thinking I might even pick myself up a cute, flirty nightie. Kit cats will enjoy that too when they snuggle up to Mami!
I don't need further confirmation of what a fuckwit he is. I already have plenty, thanks very much. -SBB

I myself never really cared for Valentine's Day...like one day of someone NOT being an ass is supposed to counter the other 364 in the year...
Then again, 'jaded' is one of the current personality traits on my list of shit to work on in IC...

I honestly don't recall one V-Day while married. So I guess they were all not worth remembering. Which is fitting since my ex is too

Now that I can get behind! I'm so not a chocolate person but I looooove champagne!
I, too, want this week to be over. I'm so sick of all the stupid, drippy jewelry commercials!!!!

My best friend's bf (who was living with her!) told her about 4 months ago that he had a new gf and a new job and TX and he'd see her around. It's been a hard few months, and she has a 2 yr old and a 12 yr old.
So...she is my Valentine's Day date. We're getting dressed up fancy and going out to dinner. Aussie's "date" is her 2 yr old daughter and the McDonald's play place. We're celebrating the day, but, not together and not exactly conventional.
I will probably be participating in 1/2 price chocolate day though!

It will all be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end
Happily remarried to a wonderful man (Aussie). I think I found the right guy and the right finger this time.

It's a pretty annoying event, in my humble opinion.
No big deal for me - was with the ex for 20 years, I can't remember a single romantic thing he ever did! Oh maybe when he got me pregnant…I think he kissed me, lol…
I've promised myself to either be on my own, or be with someone who loves me truly! Valentine's day should be every day in a healthy relationship.
