This weekend is an Antiversary of a sort. He started the A the weekend after Valentine's Day last year.

Anyway, I think I'm hanging in there. Not particularly preoccupied with it. But I suppose there is a chance that something about it will back up on me unexpectedly. I have been a little weepy this week, but not really about him per se. Just general stress and life stuff.

But does anyone have any tips for how to handle it? I'm already planning a nice, long bath. Maybe a movie. Lined up some work that I need to finish. Lunch with friends Friday and Sunday.

Any other tips?

If you can afford it a Retail Therapy Day, buy yourself 1 really decadent gift.

I'm at a loss as to what else you could do .. you're already doing lunch with friends on F & S ... hmmmm... maybe get a mani/pedi?

I found the lead up to the Anti worse than the actual day. I was off kilter and emotionally all over the place, didn't help that the legal separation was going on concurrently because dickweed dragged it out.

I went fetal, sobbing mess for a day once I realized what the date was (also coincided with what would have been 17 year anniversary). Allowed myself to wallow and embrace the sadness and pain. Mourned deeply one last time then picked myself up and continued with life as usual.

It was helpful for me to reflect on the past year and see all I had achieved and how much I had grown. All I can suggest is that you listen to yourself and do what feels best. Whether that be retail therapy, time with friends or cocooning to grieve.
