I'll be on the committee...I looked into a Google groups...you can use whatever pseudonym you want, but it still reveals email Addys....so p m are still probably a better idea.

Also, to piggyback what Sisoon said...finding one hotel is going to be tough for pragmatic purposes... Near O'Hare is going to probably be the least complicated option.

I guess the advantage of group tickets for the ball game is that we all get to sit together. that would be worth it once we all agree on what price bracket we want to go with (Assuming we can all agree )

As far as the hotels, Sisoon, is there a decent lower cost hotel near your house? Maybe in the $65 - $99/night range? Not trying to force anything but if we can all congregate in a general area then we can get to whatever activities we decide on. And those that prefer to pass on a given thing can decide to go off on their own. Maybe O'Hare is the best option. I've seen hotel prices from 99 - 127. That's not too bad.

The Chicago area is BIG. Where is our 'home base' gonna be? The city proper or a burb? I'm in the far western burbs, but I can help out if needed.

For those on a budget we can arrange a trip to the 'Bean', and there will be dragonboat races on the river that weekend. Don't forget the beach if it's a nice day.

There is also a "Summerfest" previously known as "Chicago Country Fest" on the 28th. http://www.events12.com/chicago/june/ for more info.

ETA When we decide on a hotel we can probably reserve a block of rooms at a special rate like they do for weddings.

Edited to correct stupid typos.

Two steps forward and one step backwards, is still progress.

Wow, 545! That's good news about a GD. Sorry you won't make it this time, but I'll be a bit envious.

Lost, We'll probably welcome Bears, Giants, Yankees, and Cowboys fans in my home during the g2g, so a Cards fan is easy. If you wear cardinal red, though, I might stare - I really like the color.

@sisoon.....so you are saying you are really a Cards fan and only act to be a cubbie follower so your house doesn't get egged I understand--I live in a house divided Cards/Cubs (but he's "secretly" a Cards fan)

congratulations 5454! That is great news.

Of course your DD (DIL?) could be in labor for hours so you can be carousing with us until your GDD decides to make her appearance LOL JK

QS keeps mentioning Chicago in passing. Like, 20 times this past weekend alone. I think he really wants to go.

Our slight "maybe" is a heavy "maybe".

In the event I don't go and he flies up alone, y'all promise to be nice? Don't let him get into too much trouble. Like...other people...won't mention names....*cough*Tred*cough*

We have to be nice? Well, that changes everything

Any ideas what area(s) the group would go to for dinner on Saturday night? We likely won't be staying out by the airport.

Congrats on the GD 5454.

Growing forward

Stanford? Um, no. New England, not a football school, though the team played in a Rose Bowl.

Why would anyone want to leave New England for Northern California, unless he had to? At 18 I had no fear of cold, wet winters and didn't believe mild winters were worthwhile anyway....

Not much of a sports fan of any sort, which is why I can welcome fans of pretty much any team.

I'd be happy to look out for QS, I don't know how old he is, but I'm 30, and I reckon he's around there, too.
