Rumor has it Chicago is wicked humid. Saturday's forecast is 80ish. What do the experts think it's really going to be with the humidity factor involved?

Just curious.

Chicago may be humid, but not enough to be a problem for anyone from the 'South, Y'all!' And we're like a desert compared to St. Louis....

Besides, watching a baseball game isn't likely to require a lot of energy.

Check wunderground.com for weather prediction.

Forecasts are only reliable about 72 hours out. It has rained A LOT this month, so yes, it is downright tropical with the humidity. We've been getting FOG in the mornings because it's so humid. But we DO NOT cool off at night like coastal, desert, or mountain regions.

Right now they're saying highs in the mid 80s with a chance of T-storms. Tends to be cooler by the lake with a breeze. (Which means, within a mile or so. Not Schaumburg.) T-storms tend to hit in the pm, but anytime is fair game. Our weather tends to come from the west, so see what Iowa had the day before.

Pack sun screen, bug spray, and rain poncho (umbrellas just turn inside out). Dress in layers if you get chilly. And waterproof or quick dry comfy shoes are handy. (Those blocks downtown are bigger than they look on the map.)

FYI for those driving.

Chicagoland Interstate Highway Translator:

Bishop Ford = I94 south of city
Dan Ryan = I90/I94
Edens = I94 north of city
Ike = I290 from I294 east
Indiana Toll Road = I90 in Indiana
Jane Aadams = I90 west of I294
Kennedy = I90 east of I190 and I90/I94 north of city
Reagan = I88
Skyway = I90 south of city
Stevenson = I55
TriState Tollway = I294
Veteran's Memorial = I355

And remember East is South and West is North for I90 and I94. But it's the opposite for I-55. Good luck!

Please tell me there are not going to be T storms tomorrow evening... or tell me that O'Hare lands planes like a champ in them. Either way.

Kinda what I was thinking. It's so humid here, it's near impossible to breathe and our skin gets nasty and sticky if we walk out the door. *shudder*

I'll check out the site you mentioned and see what Iowa is up to.

Sometimes they do, Jrazz. Other times, not so much. DS and I have both been stuck before and/or after getting to O'Hare in storms. Landed in a raging storm once with lightning all around, AFTER being diverted for HOURS. We both have spent the night waiting for rebooking to our destinations a day or more later. And that was in summer months.

I checked Iowa and apparently the weather is warm with a 95% chance of corn.

Are we doing Iowa jokes now?

BTW, Gemini, thanks for the info. Do you know the status of the Ohio overpass work? I've checked some sources and they all date from before the work last weekend.

They predicted they'd finish by the 22nd, but did they actually complete the work?

I'm sure we'll be doing Iowa jokes all weekend. No worries. Iowa can take it.

Also, I know Iowa can take it because it is just an arbitrarily defined land mass, but can Iowans take it?

Need Chicago clothes shopping tips. We are staying on the magnificent mile...or whatever it's called???

We are so excited!!!! Is there a Harry Dresden tour of Chicago???

Sir - I won't presume to speak for all Iowans, but I think my record of being able to take it is unimpeachable.

Jrazz, I don't think it's supposed to storm until Sunday. FWIW, I've flown from Cali to O'Hare numerous times and they've all been great landings

I'm so excited I can't sleep!!!

Ok so I'll just put off worrying about Sunday's takeoff until Saturday.
