I might be getting to this point. The hell with all the questions and the nonsense answers plus the I donít remember answers and just go with a polygraph once and for all.

What types of questions did you ask or have asked?

Did you get your answers finally because of a polygraph?

I didn't get a poly (yet?) but I can tell you what I think I WOULD ask if I did...

1. Did you love the OW?
2. Did you intend to eventually leave me and the kids?
3. Do you intend to stray again in the future?

Have you ever had sex since our marriage?
How many affairs?

DO you love me?
DO you want to end this marriage.
Was it OW?

Sorry, slide095 but those questions wouldn't work for a polygraph--too open to emotional interpretation.

I got four questions, some people had more. Questions about feelings were not allowed.

I asked---

1. Did you have sexual relations with X (polygrapher defined this as ANY contact, kissing etc). (My H had been accused of another A anonymously but there were suspicions).

2. Did you ever tell OW you would leave me?

3. Were you ever with OW after Dday 1? ( she had said yes)

4. Were there any other women I am unaware of that you had sexual relations with?

It took 24 long hours to get the results. The guy was very professional, worked for FBI, law enforcement. Pretty cold. Pretty humiliating experience. Cost $550. Well worth it. My H passed and we could move on to other subjects.

My PI had his name and set it up for me. Yes, I know, that's how badly I needed the truth. My PI had come up with nothing on the new accusation, although he said at the outset 97% of the time the accusations are true.

Good luck!

As I understand it you cannot ask intentions or feelings only actions for accuracy.

1. Have you had any contact with OW since *date*
2. Besides the ones we have talked about have you had sex with any other people during the marriage?
3. During the marriage have you ever *groped, kissed* any other people besides the ones we have talked about?
4. Since you confessed have you had any sexual relations with anyone?

These are basically the questions I asked. Quite a bit of time is devoted to defining sexual relations and other terms. The wording is also apparently pretty important, so I am not sure my memory of the above questions are completely accurate.

So, I got my answers to those questions and unfortunately it took taking the test to get them.

You wouldn't get anywhere with those questions. When you got married, do you think he intended to cheat, or leave you? Did he love her? That's completely subjective. You need to ask hard 'yes/no' questions about specific events. If you asked a question like "did you cheat?", you wouldn't get very far. Everyone's definition of cheating is different. A better question to ask is 'Have you ever had intercourse with X person?' The polygrapher, if they are skilled, could ask if they cheated, then have them provide their definition of cheating. Once that comes out, have them elaborate on why they use that definition. It would be a good way to get someone caught up in a lie, because people want to justify their actions.

A polygraph is nothing more than an intimidation tool used during an interrogation. The person conducting the interview is the most important part. If they aren't great interrogators, the polygraph itself isn't going to do that job for them.

Here are some questions for a fidelity polygraph:

Since the day of your marriage have you engaged in sexual intercourse with any person other than your spouse?
Since the day of your marriage have you engaged in any oral sex, masturbation, petting, fondling, kissing, or sexual activity of any kind with any person other than your spouse?
Since the day of your marriage have you watched any pornographic videos or read any pornographic literature?
Since the day of your marriage have you attended any nude/topless bars, strip clubs or any massage parlors?
Since the day of your marriage have you engaged in any phone sex with any person other than your spouse, used any 900 number for the purpose of sexual arousal, or used the internet for the purpose of sexual contact or sexual arousal?
Since the day of your marriage have you engaged in any sexual fantasizing where a person other than your spouse plays any intimate sexual role?
Prior to your marriage did you give your spouse a truthful account of your previous sexual activity?
During your engagement did you have sexual relations or engage in any sexual activity with any other person?
Have you ever engaged in any homosexual activity and withheld that information from your spouse?
Have you ever engaged in any illegal sexual activity and withheld that information from your spouse?
Are you presently addicted to either drugs or alcohol?
Are you presently contemplating sexual activity which does not include your spouse?

My spouse finally agreed to a fidelity polygraph. Not sure what to expect.

Do the questions have to be of the type that only a Yes or No answer can be given?

Or can the questions be more specific like How many times were you in a motel with the OM?

How many questions are usually allowed. And what does the examiner do about I dont know or I dont remember answers?

You can get answers to that. They will spend about an hour before hand talking. If you want to know a number, then that would come up in the preliminary interview. The examiner would ask how many times, and say the person answers "5". The examiner, during the test, would then ask if they'd only done something 5 times. There are a lot of "other than what you've told me" questions. That's why the interrogation skills of the examiner are the most important.
