So the female protagonist is a divorced FBI agent who divorced her husband over his affair with her BFF. He now wants to get back together. They go out to dinner and then end up at her place and start to make out. She pushes him off and asks how many time he slept with her friend. He says just once and why can't she just "get over it."

Later in the episode she confronts her sniveling "friend" who confirms it was just once and gives a sob story of how bad she felt about her life and how xWH was soooo mistreated and taken for granted sniff sniff.

So back to the BS and xWH talking. She concedes her workaholic attitude was unfair to xWH. However it did NOT justify his effing around. Then she booted him out. Ha!

I could barely make it through these scenes and did do some fast forwarding. I was starting to get pissed as xWH and BFF/OW were obviously blaming BS. AND watching it with fWS didn't help. She saw me getting pissed and was feeling very uncomfortable herself. She was trying to change the subject during the scene... "Do you think that actor has one eye bigger than the other!" Good try fWS!

At least they had BS tell off xWH at the end!

I've never seen that show, but there are plenty of shows I've seen lately where it seems infidelity is all the rage. Wh and I have watched a few of them. It makes him squirm - he really squirms when I make a comment! I figure, eh.

ME - Betrayed Spouse
Him - Wayward spouse
Not sure, but trying I guess.

I watched that one, too. My husband came home from work and asked what was wrong. I said "I watched Perception tonight and it was full of triggers."

You know, many shows and movies have affairs. It doesn't usually bother me. It was the blameshifting from the WH and OW that bothered me. And the "how many times" questions, too. I was relieved when she stood up for herself and told him that her behavior didn't give him permission to have an affair.

I've rather enjoy that show.

Here's my take on it. I rather like how she made the point that "Yeah, I was/am a workaholic and it wasn't fair to you, but that didn't give you the right to cheat on me."

But I also like how they got divorced over it, and that he has been making attempts to make amends. I like that it isn't perfect. I like that he still got a bit uncomfortable about it. I also like that she challenged him a bit on it.

It seems so much more real to me than what so many other shows would do, which is just have them fall into bed and be all "I always loved you and all is forgiven."

It was tough to watch, but at least there was some realness to it.
