DD15 and I are desperately seeking a book reference for "criminal justice in the Elizabethan period".

Teacher assigned it today, due tomorrow. Help!

Are you looking for nonfiction, or are you looking for a reference to how criminal justice was handled during that time period in any type of literature?

If you can use fiction, The Merchant of Venice might be an idea. Otherwise, check 5454's links and then just google it if those don't help.

Just any book reference that shows how criminal justice was handled in the Elizabethan era.

I suggested The Merchant of Venice to DD and she is saying she would prefer non-fiction. Looking at 545's web sites now.

Found this on Google Scholar. It's a full PDF.

Looks pretty interesting.
