I used to use Outlook all the time. When I set up my new computer I didn't install it because I mainly use my yahoo account. Anywho... I'm trying to install Outlook with my old comcast account so I can stay current with the program and I'm running into issues with the set up.

I've entered my comcast account email and password. In the box there's a check next to "establish network connection" then it shows "search for myemail@comcast.net server settings" Then it says "log on to server"

The program runs for a bit then I get another message that says "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click next to attempt using an unencrypted connection." Now, that doesn't sound all that safe to me. How can I install Outlook with my old comcast.net account?

Thanks for the help.

Hello Curtis,

One thing that you may need to check is the system date and time. If there is a variance of 5 minutes this can cause issues with establishing a secure connection.

Ok, figured it out. (See I really am good with computers )

It wasn't the date/time thing. It wouldn't work setting it up automatically, so I had to do it manually and it worked.

Imagine that! And Microsoft and Comcast know soooo much more than regular people do.... (Insert Irony icon here.)

I must be the only person on earth with positive attitudes towards MS and Comcast.

No you're not. I just thought what Sisoon said was funny.

I like Microsoft. I'm just not a techie so when something doesn't work right for me I need help.
