I recently posted that I have a new job lined up. The clock is ticking on my two weeks notice.

Today was proof it's going to be a long two weeks.

I really don't like this job. I could be successful at it but after years of bad bosses and boring jobs I found I have virtually no tolerance for work that isn't at least interesting or challenging.

I know I just need to suck it up and drive on. That I'll feel better about myself if I do the work to the best of my ability. For now I need to vent a little so I can shake it off.
In fact don't be surprised if I vent some more over the next two weeks.
Sigh...ok, back to work now.

I feel you. I am working through my 2 months notice period and friggen hate the company. Every day I hope today is the day they give me the flick. Alas thus far no success.

I will be professional to the end but some days its hard to care. Fortunately I love the job and care about my staff, so at least it's bare able to show up every day.

Do you have any vacation you can use to get out of there earlier?

If it is that intolerable, what loss is there if you just up and left? I am not recommending this from a professional standpoint and especially not if you are in a fairly small and tight-knit industry as this would certainly burn a bridge, but if the situation there is intolerable then how uch hard would be done if you just walked away from there and either took time off to yourself or started the new job early?

Thank you gahurts for the support

Unfortunately it would cause some serious issues as far damaging my professional reputation. Also, with the amount of work I need to hand off it would be grossly unfair to my coworkers. I just need to suck it up and drive on.

Time for games!!!

Short-timer games vary by industry... And I don't know yours... But here are some ideas from a few different ones.

- Nicknames. Everyone needs one. Right. Now.
- Polishing the brass' knobs (this was a military one... We'd whip out the brass polish and go polish door knobs. Clearly, the fun was in the name / bragging rights).
- Need. For. Speed. Instead of pacing yourself.... BURN though all of your work in a day. No breaks. (Bathroom, lunch, coffee). See how fast you can get through your work. (Drivers and pilots: Don't. Just. Don't.)
- Accents. New accent every day.
- Something isn't right with this picture. Make one thing with your attire "wrong" every day. 2 different shoes. Backwards tie. Hair gel only on one side of your head. Scrubs on inside out. Keep tally for how many people recognize what's wrong. Give out donut holes for those brave enough to say something.
- Punny. Anything in your work which has an alternate meaning... Run with it. I gave my (awesome) boss some framed pictures at one point: thumbprint in blue ink, and glasses. He was always asking for the blueprints and specs.
- Refer to yourself in the 3rd person for a day. Bonus points for an entirely different name.
- Go an entire day without speaking.
- et cetera

Well darn CheshCat...those games are a little difficult to pull off when I work completely from home. I'll have to keep them in mind for my new job
