This morning WH and I met with our attorneys and facilitator to sign agreements for our collaborative divorce. WH show thinly veiled contempt and anger for my attorney, and the facilitator, even squabbling about who was paying for all of this. Duh! He is the one who is employed. I suspect he didn't even tell his own attorney about his affair with his coworker. She seemed to think, at first, that he was a fine example of openness, and tried to defend him for not disclosing assets. I think she might believe otherwise, now. I watched the facilitator (therapist) react to WH responses, and he was surprised. You would think that this meeting would be a godsend for a man who had found his true love after 33 years of being married to a substitute, me. Yet, he was angry, and defensive at the meeting. Could he be feeling some shame?
After all, I gave up so much for him, and he gave me up for nothing.

Could he be feeling some shame?

The response to shame is guilt, regret & embarrassment. He's angry and defensive. He's having to face the consequences of his actions.

Consider yourself lucky that you're dumping this selfish child who doesn't have the maturity of a real man to acknowledge and accept what he brought upon himself.

Honey, sadly, no that is not shame. That is him showing you how pissed he is that he can't cake eat and control the situation anymore.
My STBX does the same crap. He doesn't know it yet, but he is being served the D papers next week. That will be a nice shit storm to umbrella. Not looking forward to it, just batting down the hatches in preparation.
Your STBX is going to really act a fool so be ready for it.

I don't need further confirmation of what a fuckwit he is. I already have plenty, thanks very much. -SBB
