I thought I would share this tonight. And to this post on SI I will add to my SI family. I wouldn't have had the strength that I have without the lessons I learned here. Thank you to each of you who share in this trauma together.

I'm feeling so blessed tonight. I have such a great ward family today for 5 hours many served with me as I had to go into the house that was once my home and remove the contents of that past life.

Almost 2 years ago my world was turned upside down as I very unexpectedly found myself facing divorce. Nothing had prepared me for the trauma of such a life shattering event. Or the effects it would have on my daughters.

Over these last 22 months as I've walked a journey that I never wanted to face I've been supported by so many people. There are several families that have gone above and beyond and become family as I've had to face this new life. Being by myself in a state far removed from my all my girls these families have been such a blessing to me. My coworkers are the best!!! They've really helped me on a daily basis. I've made many new friends that "get it" as we've all found ourselves on this same unwanted path.

I have lot of big plans in my future. I'm now able to say that I'm looking forward to what my future holds.

So to anyone who has reached and shown me support in anyway I say thank you!!!

((Elaine2012))

Are you LDS, Elaine? You called it a ward, so I assumed...

My mother is LDS, and she always told me that if it weren't for her ward she would have never made it through her divorce with my dad. I am agnostic but I have a special place in my heart for it...

Your future is going to be great, I know it!

(((Elaine))) It is great that you have people in your life who are making this process easier for you. My neighbors and friends and neighbors who are friends made my life now possible. Even in the midst of pain and trauma, their support made me realize I had so much to be grateful for and that realization gave me strength. You are blessed not only in choosing to surround yourself with good people, but to be able to recognize what a gift it is to see the things that are going well.

haysuth01 Yes I'm LDS!

WeepingBuddhist I was speaking with my DD today she was concerned about inconveniencing some people who are helping her. I told her there are many good kind people who want to do good for others. It's a hard thing for us (my DDs and me; conditioning from STBX was always so begrudging of his time and money) to ask for and accept help when offered. One thing I've learned it that it's ok to accept offers of help. Frankly, don't truly know what would have happened to me if my friends hadn't given me a soft place to land.

You are blessed not only in choosing to surround yourself with good people, but to be able to recognize what a gift it is to see the things that are going well.

Thank you for this. Sometimes it's good to be reminded that I can indeed see the good despite the temporary set back my life has taken. I was just having a conversation with, well myself, tonight. I am a good person, I am kind and I am a good mother and friend. When people tell me that they aren't just saying it they actually mean it. I've have and have made such good friends who value me for who I am. I'm grateful not to see the that.
