Well thank God.

Is it just me Abbondad, or do you think she always intended to sign, but just wanted to turn the knife in your belly as much as possible?

I am not sure which is worse...being a total nutter that has to be talked off the ledge by an attorney every five minutes, or just pretending to be a nutter to get attention and stress out your ex as much as possible.

I am glad it went okay in the end.

Now go buy your new recliner and big TV!

Just think you are now removed from the daily crazy of her AND the best part is she will be turning her crazy onto the very deserving POS!

However we all know that she will be demanding you tow HER line about the kiddos. More stress to come, but she can't quite get at YOU personally as easily anymore. If only her head would explode because she can't control you anymore.

Thanks everyone! I can hear the parade and fireworks. :-)

Considering by his own admission that when they were together, he gave into her quite a lot - my guess is that she is trying desperately to hang on to this tactic.

I do believe this is the case--that this is always fueling her rage. I am simply not playing by the script: I treated her for years like a princess (out of love), and now I have been going against script, starting with divorcing her. I think she absolutely was not going to sign, however--until my attorney contacted her ex-attorney who must have shown her how incontrovertible my case was, in this case the proceeds due me. (And probably the dire consequences if she did not sign.)

The blowback has already started rumbling: she texted me offering first right of refusal, and I texted back, "No thank you."

Then another text offering me again, this time on another date. Me: "No, thank you."

Followed by a snotty Email asking me to confirm I have "refused to take the children."

She now has a job and must find a sitter. That means more money out of her pocket.

(BTW, I wasn't being an asshole; I just couldn't take the kids on those days--but I am through feeling I have to explain myself.)

I feel liberated and vindicate. She has nothing over me any more.

I have a giant credit card bill I am going to pay off. But first things first: I bought an awesome TV which I'm watching with DD right now.
:-) :-) :-)

PS: our realtor gave me an expensive bottle of wine after closing and kissed me, thanking me for being so helpful and wishing me well. (XW put her through hell as well.)

(Fist pump!)
