"Ummm, so I really wanted a gilded claw foot tub in the second guest suite... this is just a crappy jacuzzi tub. Oh, and I specifically said TWO five-car garages. Where the hell am I supposed to put the Aston Martin?!? With the Mercedes? NO thank you!"

Is this the series where they show them three different houses, and one is always waaaaayyyyyy out of their price range? And then they try to sound like they know what they're talking about while making stupid comments about the houses?

Oh if you think HH is bad.. try House Hunters International. I don't normally begrudge anyone their wealth. Different lives don't bug me.. but even I choke a little when they are complaining about the view on the spectacular Greek Island they are retiring to. Ummmm shut up.

"This is a quartz countertop. I asked for granite. And what is this color on the wall? This is a complete gut job. I can't live like this."

I would just be happy with any house.

I can't do it. I'm too jealous. Just kind-of like, "I see your problem and wish I had it!" I'd hope that, if I DID have "problems" of that magnitude, I wouldn't be as whiny as some of those people!

ETA: I was thinking of HHI when I wrote the above.

Meta, you are so right

But I do love that one. I like seeing how people in other countries live.

Love House Hunters International; depending on the country they're filming in, it's like taking a mini-vacation from which you take ideas of maybe where you would like to travel.

Both HH & HHI do have the whiners complaining about wall colors, etc. Really ? Have you heard of PAINT ? All the "reality" shows are contrived; there's nothing real about them at all except the set.

Lifeisbroken.. I love Property Brothers but they too have a formula for their shows. They always show someone a house that is waaaayyyyy out of their budget to get them to agree to get a renovation property. If I,the casual viewer, knows that, then surely these people signing their lives away must know it. Yet they act so surprised every.single.time.

All of what you all just said!!!

The one we were watching earlier----the price range was in the $800,000s. The beautifully done in granite and stainless kitchen looked 'dated'. And the master bathroom (pretty much larger than my whole bedroom and bathroom put together) was too small.

The thing that made me laugh was that the house was on a golf course and the realtor said there might be golf balls flying into the backyard and the guy said that the kids could wear helmets when they were playing back there .

House Hunters International I find interesting to see the different places, but the people are just as annoying. Funny to see the different perspectives, though.

What about Love It or List It? "What do you mean I can't have open concept?" Um... Unless you want your upstairs in your downstairs the cost of taking out the load-bearing wall is too much for your $20k budget AND you're insisting on high end finishes. Sheesh people! It's called load bearing for a reason.

LOL.. As you can tell I watch a lot of these shows. I told dh that if I heard the words "open concept" one more time I was going to purposely start closing off all of our space and making super tiny rooms with no windows just to be contrary.

Or "Sight Lines". Seriously now. While yes it is nice to look from the kitchen and be able to see the kids in the living room is it really the absolute must nowadays? My kids managed to make it to 10 and 17 so far without me being able to see them every second of the day. If I had to do something in another room when they were small, they came with me. Get over your sight lines people. Why don't we all just live in one giant "open concept" room with fabulous "sight lines"? Oh that's right.. because that's called a gymnasium.

End rant.

Yes! And the way they're apparently contractually obligated to say "and where is hubby going to put all HIS clothes?" every time they are shown a walk in closet! Gah!

I can't get over the whole "how far out are we? We drove like 20 minutes to get here." Especially if "here" is fabulous on top of a mountain with fruit trees and a guest villa...

That drives me nuts every time.... I guess the guy will keep his clothes in the garage, which, by the way, they neglect to spend any time at all on on most episodes. I mean, c'mon... it is one of the most important rooms of the house!! Right?

They had an episode focusing on The Woodlands and several members PM'd and said how lucky we are to live there.

I was like "ummmm...no...we live on the *other side* of the tracks"

HH bugs me too!
