Boss has passed on my number to a friend of her son's. She has been trying to do this literally since November when I first moved out from living with A Very Bad Person To Live With But Lesson Learned. Needless to say that was not good timing but I think she meant well by the desire to set me up.

Said boss is a very sweet but sometimes over-bearing woman who is certain that being with a doctor must be the dream of all women (the single friend is in his 3rd year of med school).

No way am I EVER going to get involved with someone who will have to move for a residency thankyouverymuch. I guess on the plus side I feel like I can handle a blind date now...maybe. the grilling and expectation afterwards at the workplace, I'm not so sure about!

Wow! That is nine shades of wrong on your boss' part. She must have checked her brains and boundaries at the door when she came to work.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

I'm with Saz on this one.
Unless you gave your boss permission to give out your phone number, she crossed all kinds of boundaries.

Soooooo not cool.

I didn't disallow her from giving the number out, but she is very hard to say no to and I am not good at putting up firm resistance when her boundary-crossing begins. I have genuinely come to enjoy working for her but her sense of personal privacy is pretty much non-existent. And I often cave when she gets something into her head. Ugh now I'm dreading months of possible follow-up on this. I will just need to insert a spine on the topic and be clear about what I find to be unacceptable pressure in the future.
