My SO starts a new job this week. He has worked overnights the whole time I have known him and in a few days will start working week days- a sweet office job with paid holidays and everything.

I am excited for him to be starting a new (and hopefully WAY BETTER) job.

I am somewhat amused at the idea that after more than a year of cohabitation we will now have to learn to get used to sharing a bed.

Our schedules give us a lot of built in alone time. Sort of. I mean, the other person is usually sleeping in the other room, so it is alone and quite time. But alone time. Hopefully we won't be stepping on each other now.

But honestly it's hard to think about the serious things. I am too excited thinking about things we can finally do together now that he's not working nights. Lazy weekend breakfasts, morning walks, weekend getaways... OMG- enjoying holidays!

SQUEE!!!!

Keep calm and carry on.

Congrats to your SO on the new job. May it turn out to be everything he wanted, and more.

Have fun with getting to do more "normal" stuff together. Hope the sleeping at the same time adjustment goes well.

It helps that we are both aware that there will be a need for adjustment.

Keep calm and carry on.

SO has been wanting to find a new job for a while, then he found out that he was being laid off and he kicked the job search into high gear. He's actually starting his new job the day after his current one ends. It's kind of a miracle, actually. Not only does he find a job right in the nick of time, but a GOOD job that he's really excited about. I have been going back and forth between giddy excitement and extreme gratitude.

Keep calm and carry on.
