Apparently, saying "Gyp!" when you get a way smaller piece than everyone else!

Me: Hey, why'd I get the small piece?? Gyp!!!!

DS: Omg, Mom! That term is so culturally pejorative! I can't believe my own mother just said that! Omg! **rushes off to tumblr to tell his followers all about his culturally offensive mother**

That word was such a normal part of my childhood I actually had to google it to figure out that it was referring to Romani Gypsies being stereotyped as thieves and scammers. Who knew?

Razzie & Ascendent - this saying is from way back when there were phones placed in public spaces like parking lots and street corners, and if you wanted to call someone, you put coins in them first to make them work.
Ohhhh, so THAT'S what those things were....and here I thought they were just leftover props from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

I'll show my age, too:

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....

I called shotgun.

Ready, Freddy!

Not my bag, man.

Can you dig it?

Don't flip your wig.

The devil made me do it.

So I was sitting on the davenport, wearing my pedal pushers and trying to come up with words that show my age, and CRIMONY, I cannot come up with anything!!

BTW, we referred to scuzzy people as skags back in the day...

Meta....my BFF's mom always called them dungerees and I had no clue what she was talking about.

Of course, now my DD laughs when I tell her about my cool parachute pants I had!

"Where's the beef?"

Reading "Dynamite" magazine.
Worksheets at school were "Mimeographed".
"Would you like to play a game?" (in computer voice)

And Slim Pickins riding a nuclear warhead like a bucking bronco in "Dr. Strangelove."

Edited to correct stupid typos.

Two steps forward and one step backwards, is still progress.
