Well, chalk this one up to experience. I had met this person in OLD and we arranged to meet at lunch at noon today at a nice restaurant. I show up 10 minutes early and waited until 15 minutes after noon and figured he must have poofed.

I even confirmed it with him yesterday. Should I have waited longer? Should I have gotten his cell number first...?

BLEH!

Who does that? Who knows what may have happened. Maybe there will be a text waiting for you describing his perfectly legitimate reason for not being there (a car accident or heart attack would suffice). If you'd had his cell number, I would probably have texted "I'm here, here is where I'm sitting" when I arrived. But if he didn't respond or show, I'd be fuming! FTG (unless he's maimed and disfigured an laying in that hospital bed somewhere...)

So sorry this happened to you!! ((Bellestar))

I have to admit Better that I was thinking along those lines....we'll see what he comes up with as an excuse before I block him.

Sorry to hear your bad luck on lunch date. That sucks for sure.
Lesson to learn:
I never meet a guy if he does not give me his number, or text a day ahead to confirm.

However that is part of the old games, get a thick skin and get used to it too.

It sounds harsh but that is reality of old. But I believe there are good gentleman out there.
Good thing you tried !

I think this is why they suggest coffee first -- if stood up for a meal it can impact your whole day... Meh.

I'm also wondering why you didn't eat lunch without him.

I was stood up last year. I waited 15 minutes, then I ate lunch alone. I told the waitress what happened, she commiserated a bit, we swapped dating stories, and I had a very enjoyable experience (probably more so than if the guy had shown up!)

Me, being shy and introverted, do not go into the restaurant unless I already know the guy is there. Or, I wait outside for him. So far I haven't been stood up except for one guy who emailed me to cancel an hour before the date.
