So on Tuesday had to hang with The Princess and her family because they were my ride to 11's Grade 5 grad (school is out in the middle of nowhere). Today was 14's Grade 8 grad.

I took a bus across town, and met up with The Princess' mom, who then drove me to the school. The Queen was actually quite nice, and chatted me up in the car (she really is the least of the evils in that family!). Then came the question:

"So are you seeing any women?"

She made it sound like she actually gave a shit (and I suppose it COULD be possible), but I was totally caught off guard. I just stammered out, "I've done some online dating, but they're all fucking crazy, so I'm just coasting now."

She responded, "Good! That sounds like a good idea!"

But seriously, what the fuck?

When we met up with The Princess, I noticed a new ring with a blue stone on her right ring finger. I just KNOW that she has love-bombed that poor fucker, and now he's proposed. She's probably waiting for a more appropriate time to come out with it. Appropriate is important to her (I know, there's a metric shitload of irony there!).

Anyhow, as far as any engagement goes, what's the expression I read somewhere on here? "Not my circus, not my monkeys", or something like that.

The grad ceremony was lovely, and The Princess didn't ask for a "family" picture this time. It was probably a big dent to her pride when I didn't want to do one on Tuesday.

Yeah, dude, the more I think about it, the more I get pissed off about the dating conversation with The Queen. I have never told any of The Princess' family that she screwed around, and you can be fucking sure she hasn't.

So The Queen was just digging, and then passing judgement, and saying how I really shouldn't be dating right now, but it's totally cool for The Princess to do it?

What the delusional blue fuck is THAT shit about?

Since the Queen is the lesser of all the evils, maybe she was just making small talk and walked into a bomb of a subject.

Or maybe she knows that the Princess in engaged and would feel better about it if you've moved on too.

But as you said, "Not my circus, not my monkeys." Not your In-laws, not your problem. Who cares what they think. They raise the Princess, so there's a screw loose somewhere.

Congrats on your sons' graduations. I hope they enjoyed the events and avoided the drama.

Edited to correct stupid typos.

Why haven't you told her family?

As soon as I decided to try at (false) reconciliation - three days after DDay - The Princess' story changed. Suddenly, she wasn't screwing around, and never had. Any time I make mention of it, she pulls out all her lies, and makes a big deal of how I made my discovery by "stalking" her. (I read her email because I thought she was screwing someone else.)

When I moved out, I decided that the whole village we lived in was no longer my circus, and that her entire family were no longer my monkeys. I have no doubt she's fed them a pile of horseshit, and they won't believe me. If she hasn't already, she'll make me sound crazy and obsessed.

I have my new life with a new neighbourhood and new friends. She and her family are in the margin of my new life. I'm not going to waste any energy trying to convince them that she's a bad person.

They raise the Princess, so there's a screw loose somewhere

Gem, dude, do you ever have that right. The Queen is the lesser of the evils, but still evil. She basically got kicked out of their church for being nasty with the other volunteers. I bet you've never heard of THAT happening before!

While I am grateful to The Princess and her family for getting me to the grads this week, I'm unwilling to give them the benefit of the doubt on anything at all. They're bad people.

I'm glad your week is over and you need not spend any more time with Royalty.

The accommplishments of your two young men matter the most, right? I hope you three boys get some quality fun time this summer!

BW:43, WH:51 (worked in Saudi Arabia for the last 3 yrs), OW1-7 yrs ago, OW2-now (works in Saudi too) DD:19, DS:17, Married 18, together 20.
For me, it's not about her this time; the coward left the marriage 3 yrs ago & didn't tell me.

Yep, of course. We probably can't afford any vacations this summer, but plan to make the best of our time in the city. My boys are very grateful, and happy with whatever we do. We'll make sure to have some fun.
