Oh wal, wal, wal. I'm so sorry for your loss

jjct, I thought everyone in TX was issued an El Camino at one time or another

I spent a few miles behind the wheel of a 70 1/2 TA a few weeks ago. It was a nice place to spend time

So, yeah, proud owner of a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan.

No worries mate. I'm driving my MLC right now - 2012 Clearwater Blue Camry Hybrid XLE. Gets 42 MPG. Has a stereo I would of loved to have in any of my muscle cars. Plus heated leather seats, GPS, and no belts at all on the engine. I don't have to carry a spare fuel pump in the boot. And a warranty . Still...it's a Camry. Stigma city...practical just isn't sexy.

You're right, Tred.

I should frame it differently: I have a VAN with Fold-n-Go seats that can, literally, within seconds be transformed into...you know, a VAN WITH AN AIR MATTRESS IN THE BACK!! at any time, on any secluded stretch of road, that happens to strike my or my wife's fancy.

And, yeah, it might just have done exactly that a time or two.

Just got to get me one of those "(Makin') Babies On Board" things to hang in the window.

Tred, I read once that if the first thing someone tells you about their car is what kind of mileage it gets, they don't love it. You get a pass because you mentioned the color first

I have log books going back to 1986, but I only tell when asked. FWIW a 2013 Corvette Grand Sport will get 25.5 mpg when driven from Detroit to NJ and back, and you can fit 4 wheels and tires in the cargo area

There was this cornfield in North Carolina oh! What was I saying? Yeah.
The REASON at first, the Toyota, Honda engines were superior was, in fact, design.
When Detroit caught up - started copying it - our home made cars got better. Still, the others retained the lead in efficiency -
know why?
Cuz of Materials.
(when you pay your assemblers one fish head a day, and they're happy with that, you can spend more on better iron and steel and alu minium)

Superior materials + design
TRUMP
inferior materials + design
any day.
GOOD PURCHASE wal & Tred!
I say.

Your posts make me horny wal.
Should I even say that?
Fukit.
Nothin turns me on better'n an original! 400.
That movie's a hundred times better than 300.

37 years old and I've had two vehicles. My buddy's 10 year old son rode with me last Friday and I had explain that he had to crank the handle to lower the window on my truck.

"Wow! That's so cool! I've never seen one of those before!"

Little shit.

I didn't even bother to ask if he had any cassette tapes he wanted to play.

37 years old and I've had two vehicles.

I thought I was rare - 35 here and have had a total of 4, the most recent purchased last August. Impressive sir.

I still have found memories for cassettes - staying up all night waiting for my new favorite song to come on the radio so I could record it. Mixed tapes made for middle school crushes. Good times.

FRMR - welcome to the best club you never wanted to be a part of! Keep the beer flowing and you'll fit right in

Yeah, I like to pay it off and drive it until the wheels fall off. Or until it cheats on me. Wait, now I'm not sure what I'm talking about either...

We agree that both payments suck.

Judging by what I've heard my ex's newest choices in men are, "ash tray" may be a great euphemism for her, uh, intake valve?

Guess I'm looking for a trustworthy and dependable vehicle with a clean ash tray and no need for a lojack because I never have to question where it is or who is driving it. I have no idea what I'm talking about anymore...

Hi folks.

Bad night. Finances aren't so good anymore WW working part time so we can spend more time together; a reward for her behavior, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

So she suggests some cut backs, even offers to curtail shopping herself. I suggest I could work on my vacation time, testing her I think, and she starts with suggestions on how I could do that. Never suggests going back full time herself.

Maybe I shouldn't have played that game, but her responses triggered me. Off the phone, her being mounted by others flooding my brain, overwhelming pain. 9 months out. Jeez.

Sorry so down, others have it worse, going through D, so I'm lucky I guess. When I'm stressed with WW my go to scene is her laying back, legs open. And OM laughing to themselves, laughing at me that I thought she was mine.

Just got to shop around Mos. If the dealer is too eager to let you test drive it then it's a red flag. No harm in checking for rust under the chassis. Just don't go to the bank and sign the papers until you know it's the ride of your dreams.

And when the lot boy wants to drill the antenna hole in the hood, knock him down and say "Nobody puts a hole in my (what the fuck are we talking about)) but me!)

*****True story......circa 1964 my grandfather beat up the lot boy who took a drill to his car (automobile) cause radios were still an option then......

Sorry so down, others have it worse,

Nope. We all have it how we have it. No better, no worse.

Peace and strength. We goof around but we all know the pain.

Sunsetslost - A good car and a good woman have so much in common. Same goes for lemons and, I'll not use the word I wanted to use and just say "not good women." When life gives you lemons, get an STD test.

Nitrobob - What sunsetslost said. Pain is pain, and we're here for each other. Strength brother.
