I just received a phone call for another job interview. It's for a different place that's just down the street. It's part time, but more in the area that I'm used to (benefits).

We'll see how this goes.

Thank You!!

The part time aspect isn't the best, but at least it's something. I'm also happy that my resume is getting more attention.

Well crap... They called back and changed it to Wednesday and now I can't find a sitter. Plus (this may sound stupid, but because of my situation...), I'm trying to do this "incognito" because I don't want my husband to know.

She was going to when it was tomorrow. She was going to pick them up in the morning and bring them to work with her, but now that it has been changed to 2:00 on Wednesday she won't be able to.

I tried contacting my cousin, but I haven't heard back from her yet, and there are no neighbors I can trust.

Just throwing this out there. I was babysitting for other people's kids when I was 10. Could your DS and DD stay alone? It shouldn't be too long, especially when it's near home.

I wish. I don't think he's ready yet. I may have come up with something but I have to wait until morning to see if it'll be a possibility.

SD any teens in the neighborhood?

When I was 12-15 I watched older kids a lot, my job was basically to make sure they didn't burn the house down, and kill each other.

The one family I was a lifeguard, because they had a pool, I cooked meals too.

I loved it. Gave me some independence, and a few bucks, and at that age I didn't have boys to worry about too much.

The other thing you may want to look into for "free" sitting services, are churches in your area doing vacation bible school. The kids usually have fun, do some crafts, learn some songs, make some friends. Usually free too.

No. We live in a condo community and there's mostly just crabby neighbors.

My mom and I worked something out. My car is having more issues so she's going to lend me her car. I'm going drop everyone off at her work (my sister's store) and then pick up the kids after the interview. Then I'll return her car to her later that night. It'll be a lot of running around, but it is what it is...for now.

I just came back from the interview. There are definite pros and cons to each job. Now to weigh them out to make a good decision. That is if I'm picked for either one.

I sent an email to the recruiter for the first interview and I received an email back from a different person saying "are you available at 4:30 today, I'd like to provide feedback."

That doesn't sound promising...

We're you able to meet with them?
Feedback is always a good thing even if you don't get the job.
It helps to learn and ask questions and often if you engage in an honest discussion you go to the top of the list for the next similar role.

TN, no truer words have been spoke, and that's exactly what happened.

The recruiter who handled my phone interview said that they went with someone who had more account management experience which is fine, I understand that. She did say that they liked me and had great things to say about me, so much so that one manager wants me for a different job. They can't officially interview me yet because they have to post the job. That may not be for a few weeks. This would be a foot in the door and I'll be able to learn how this company operates.

Now the dilemma... What do I do if the other company offers me the part time job? I don't want to burn bridges by either saying no or by starting then leaving. I have to be able to take care of my kids. The part time job has no benefits, but I could move to a different area if there's an opening. There is also some flexibility and it's super close to home and the kid's schools.

Lots to think about...on top of all the other garbage.

Sigh...

If you have no job, and are offered one, part time or temp take it. When (you noticed I didn't say if) you are offered a FT job at the other place, resign politely, and embrace the opportunity.
The first employer will get that you need FT work with benefits. Not a big deal.

(((and strength)))
