TTCD - Go to your dr and tell him it hurts, he can send you to get injected, and if it's painful insurance pays for it.

That's my moral dilemma. Besides being really self conscious and it involving how I feel after not for OT conversation, they don't hurt.

TTCD, I have spider veins. They don't hurt but I still want to get them zapped whenever I find the time to do it. They've bugged me for years (had them since I was a teenager and they are very noticeable).

I'm a mom of 3 boys, my youngest is 5 months. This weekend at the beach I wore a bikini. My linea negra is still visible and I have stretch marks on my hips and cellulite on my thighs. I rocked my bikini. Nothing against "mommy" bathing suits but I like my bikini.

My days in a bikini are long, long gone. That said, we made our boat a cellulite-free zone. Not in that cellulite isn't allowed, but the contrary; it doesn't exist on the boat. It disappears, so nobody has to worry or feel self conscious or be uncomfortable doing what we love. I'll be damned if I'll feel shy and insecure in my happy place. I'm Gisele fucking Bundchen on my boat.

(pretty chunky on dry land, alas)

I wore a bikini one time in my entire 54-year life. I was 17 and my parents, sister and I were in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia, so I figured the odds of any of my friends seeing me was pretty slim.

The irony is, looking back, I was 5'11" and weighed about 120, had a torso and legs to rival Heidi Klum's, but I was sooooooooo self-conscious and embarrassed about every part of myself, it was horrible.

Oh, and that list? I threw $10K at my boobs and they still sagged.

Tankinis are my friend.

Thank you all for the laughs!!
I have a one piece which it fits me so well I feel completely comfortable in it. My WH is so judgmental with every detail of my persona, buuuuut the first day I wore it he told me he really, and I mean really, liked it. My trouble area is my thighs and my tummy. I gained 50 pounds with my DD-2yrs. I have 10 lbs more to go. I feel so comfortable with my sexy one piece that I am happy with it.
When I was in shape and worked out daily I was still self conscious. I probably feel more comfortable with my body now stretch marks and belly pouch included then back in the day slim and toned. Its all about confidence!!!!

I'm with Williesmom. I want to be comfortable first, cute second.
I prefer board shorts, but I wear them over a one piece suit.

I do have an A-line swim dress that I like too. The skirt comes down to upper-mid thigh and the non-clingy overdress make it flattering and comfy at the same time.

I've been wearing one-pieces since my teens.

If I may brag - I had a kick-ass body when I was young and I did wear a bikini now and then, but preferred a racer type suit. Of course now I'm a not-so-teeny mom, so the one piece is totally on! LOL!

I do think it's awesome to see a woman who maybe isn't "SI swimsuit edition bikini-ready" wearing one. I admire that self assurance and wish I had it!

Being comfortable with YOU is the best thing you can put on!

I see women who are heavier than me wearing bikinis and looking fine. And I could wear one before I had my daughter and look fine, even if my stomach wasn't completely flat.

I think it has something to do with having kids. When you're younger and have a little "pooch" it's smoother and cute, after you have babies it seems to be lumpier - or does with me, anyway! And to me the height of unfairness is that even my pregnancies that didn't make it past nine weeks have made my stomach look worse! That's some shit right there. I need to file a complaint.

I love BrokenbutTrying’s response and the images posted. I also love Phonix1’s response:

I just don't see the need to walk around practically nude in order to enjoy the water and sun.

There were times in my life when I kept a bikini around, waiting for the day I would feel good wearing it somewhere, somehow. I finally threw it out. I did wear a two-piece on vacation in 2007, and it looked good on me though the bottoms were higher-waisted and the top had more coverage than a typical "bra" bikini as well. But I have thrown that out deciding I don't want to walk around practically naked even though I know I have a darn good body for a 55 year old woman who has had three kids, with the last of them weighing 9 lbs. 5 oz. (size 3, 118 lbs). I am proud of this since I did weigh 170 lbs at age 19, before having any kids! But I don't need a bikini to show it.

I've never been comfortable in a bikini, even when I had the body for it long, long ago. It's just too much skin showing for me to be comfortable, no matter what I looked like in it. Add fair skin to that, and it's just that much more sunscreen and worrying about missing a spot. One pieces - well, a long torso made it impossible to find a comfortable one when I was younger. Now they have them for long-torso gals but are really expensive. I LOVE the tankinis because they solve all of the problems I have with swimsuits. I'm finally comfortable in swimwear when I wear one.
