I came across some grumpy people today. It started to make me think.

What if all of it is based upon our perception - maybe grumpy is someone's normal?

I have a lot on my plate somedays I wish for simpler days and less grumpy people

My mother is a grumpy person. Sometimes when I talk to her on the phone I feel drained when I hang up. Everything is just so negative and miserable, and it's a real downer. I hated it as a kid and am so happy to be away from it for the most part. I make it a point to be as positive as possible. Life's too short to be grumpy all the time.

I spoke to my brother yesterday and he said the same thing, and that she's been more grumpy than usual lately.

I hope you get your wish of simpler days and less grumpy people!

ETA Grumpy is my mother's normal, that's for sure!

There are some people who are not happy unless they are miserable. It makes me crazy! The X was like this; he worried about everything, and if something happened that he didn't like, his first reaction is to fight.

Like AN, my mom is grumpy too. Nothing is ever good, fun, enough, exciting...it's just sad.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

I have started to think that... some people's grumpy is actually how they normally are.

I try not to take slights as personally as I used to Someone might just be a grumpy person, or having a bad day.

Some people are just plain grumpy and negative all the time. As someone who's been nicknamed "The Posi-Monster", I don't understand it, but hey, my reality isn't theirs. I'm supremely positive and sunny, but give me hot and humid weather, and I'm as grumpy as can be. It does something to my brain chemistry! Maybe the summer heat has infected others, too.

I have to be honest, some days I am pretty grumpy. When I am in pain, and have to deal with people that are too dumb to function in society, I really loose patience quickly.
I try to use humor, but often come across as a total smartass.
If I'm totally grumpy though it's because my joints are just killing me.

I truly want to be a happy, upbeat person and I always admire those who are and seem to be that way naturally. Reality for me is that I've been a negative person most of my life. It drives me nuts to hear anyone say that I'm not happy unless I'm worrying, because I'm certainly NOT happy when I'm worrying. But that seems to be a constant -- the need to stress out and worry about things even those way beyond my control. It's taken a lot of therapy and age (being beaten down till I'm too tired to worry) to get me to a calmer state that at least borders on happy

I love to laugh, I love to be happy. I just find myself figuring that if I'm assuming the worst, I won't ever be disappointed or blindsided (well, that certainly didn't work out very well ). It's a terrible way to approach life...

I'm usually NOT grumpy, but I have "Resting Bitch Face" so many people assume I'm grumpy.

Hahaha, I have "Resting Bitch Face", and "Concentrating C*nt Face". With these two combined, no one ever sits next to me in class!

Seriously though, there are multiple facets to our personalities. When I'm at work or school, or talking about something serious, I'm "all business", and probably come off as total grump. When I'm down to have fun, I'm pretty much a singing, dancing goof. I've been told I have two personalities.
