...because it may be. My daughter's best male friend suffered a pulmonary embolism a couple of days ago. Fell and hit his head in the bathroom, which prevented him from reaching help in time. Dead at age 37.

Don't put off what you want or need to do.

I'm sorry about your daughter's friend. That's so sad.

Someone I know from one of the greyhound sites I'm on lost her husband at 47 from a massive heart attack the other day, so I've been feeling that message too.

You just never know.

I'm so sorry for your daughter and her friend's family.

That's what led the X to do 'you know what'... His accident and my SIL's death from cancer at age 41. To each his own, I guess...

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

That is so very sad.

One of my best friends died at 47, 2 years ago. He had just walked his only child, a beautiful daughter, down the aisle at her wedding 4 days prior. He had a 'widow-maker' heart attack, died instantly. Poor daughter was on her honeymoon and it took 3 days to reach her as they were in a remote area.

Hugs to your daughter, these sad times are very hard to get over.

My daughter was already reeling from the death of her best female friend's mother (62)from a brain aneurysm just two days before this. This friend lost her dad (then 59)to a heart attack a couple of years ago, and has had two miscarriages since. That poor girl. I don't know how she will survive sane. I don't know how one person can bear so much loss. My daughter's heart was already breaking for her friend. The mother lived way across the country, but my daughter had visited on many occasions and been made to feel part of the family. When she was touring that area last year with her own dad, they were invited to use the mother's house as their base. The girls met in their first year of grad school and had been, with another girl, best buddies ever since. My daughter's friend had moved back to her home town after her dad's death to be with her mum.

After she told me about the friend's mum's death, my daughter texted me: Mum, I know I tell you this often, but I have to tell you again. I love you more than I can ever say.

His brother has a bad case of survivor's guilt because he lived in R's house until the week before, when he moved into his own house. He feels if he'd been there, he might have been able to get help in time.
