For me, anyway, is that I'll want to make it. But, I can't just make a cake, I have to have a reason. So then, I'll go into full on party planning mode. 2 hours worth of activities, cake, lunch and decorations all centered around a theme. 6 little girls in dresses, fine china teacups and saucers and lots of giggling. I'm exhausted, but my daughter is happy. 'Frozen' themed tea party in the books. My mantra for the rest of the summer? 'I will NOT browse the Internet for cool baking ideas!'

What a wonderful memory you made for your daughter.

We need a pic of the cake.

I don't know how to get my pictures on here. The only online photos I have are on fb. I don't have any clue how to get a URL on them.

You can copy the URL from FB and paste it into the image box in your SI post.

Click on the enlarged version of your FB pic. Right click on the pic. Click "Copy image URL".

Open an SI post. On your left you will see a box called "image". Click on it. A black box will open up. Paste your copied URL in that box.

Continue with your SI post.

My dd's bday is a week before Christmas so we often did a *Birthday in July* for her. We did a tea party once and pulled out fancy dresses and stuff for them to wear - they did a *firemans bucket brigade* with the teacups. Oh the memories. It is was so much fun!

Sounds like yours was awesome as well.

Moo, we did build snowmen. One girl was wrapped in toilet paper by the others on her team and then they added construction paper buttons and a nose. We also had a couple of big girls come in their formals and do hair and makeup for the little girls. It was chaotic, but we all had a great time.

Dreamboat- sure! Just realize that whenever I go anywhere, I'm a package deal. You get me plus DD6, DS2 and DS1.

Thanks for the comments about me being a great mom. I don't feel like it sometimes and since my daughter has a step-mom, that causes a whole host of anxiety-inducing thoughts. It's nice to be reminded that people outside of my head see me as a good mom.

I'll get on the actual computer and try the pictures from fb in a few minutes.

These pictures are huge, but here they are. I should add that the clunky coffee cup in the top left was for DS2. No way I could have handled him having one of his sister's antique china teacups and saucers.

I made Gozleme for the first time tonight due to internet browsing.

I made 16 of the buggers and could only eat 2. I'll be eating them all weekend and trying to palm them off to neighbours. I'll join you on the 'No Cool Cooking Ideas' bus. NCCI bus.

I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

The cake really was super easy. I use a box mix because I just can't get a scratch cake to have the right texture (it's always dense, dry and crispy on the outside). I split the batter and used food coloring to dye it. Blue in the pan first, then I drizzled the purple on and swirled a butter knife through it. Bake, frost with an amazing home made buttercream and decorate with home made hard candy (sugar, water, corn syrup) tinted with the same blue food coloring I used in the cake.
