When I found WH's texts to OW, WH lost the right to call me "Baby", "Sweetie", "Love", and "Princess". It tears me up so much that he could call someone else by what I thought were my pet names.
I know we're just a little over 4 months out, but I miss easy conversation. I miss not having to think about everything I say before I say it.
Does it come back? Do the pet names come back? Or will they always turn to sawdust in my mouth?

For me, some of the pet names never came back. The easy conversation did though

The easy conversation comes back. I thought about those awkward and uncomfortable times recently when passing a restaurant we went to shortly after dday. My husband was trying and I was very quiet and kind of staring at him like he was a stranger. A stranger I'd known for 20 years. It was such a strange time. That awkward feeling is long gone now.
The pet names, no thanks. They seem easy, superficial and cheap. I don't want that.

The conversation has come back. Actually, we talk more than we did before. The pet names, not so much. Because I can still see some of them written down to impress whores who were trying to get him to send them money while pretending to be in a relationship with him and sexting him. My stomach does a slow, uneasy crawl, when I think of that.
Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.

Pet names are out forever. I told him this early on and will never feel comfortable with them again. Ily is meaningless as well, I prefer actions to words now. Easy conversation has come back though.

Signatures... he used similar signatures with AP as he did with me. The signatures bug me more than the petnames... this just proves how unoriginal WS are. They use the same ideas with AP as they did with us. They take them to the same restaurants, do the same things... nothing special or original there. Sad part is that these unoriginal things are things we used to do together. Now I can't enjoy the normal things
Easy conversation? that's starting to come back, 17 months after DD. I must say they are few and far between though
