My DD is going to be leaving her preschool soon because she (gulp) will be starting kindergarten at the end of August. I want to get goodbye/thank you gifts for her teachers but dont know what to do.
I would prefer to have her make something for them rather than buy gifts....I always preferred home made gifts to store bought ones when I taught preschool because I think its more sentimental.

I dont know what we should make though....at Christmas i bought glass ball ornaments and DD decorated them with paint, glitter, and gems. They came out great! !

Does anyone have any ideas??

Pinterest is full of ideas for this!

Decorate a picture frame or a set of glasses decorated by your daughter.

How thoughtful of you!

I made these for my daughter's teachers at the end of the school year. Cheap, quick, cute and they loved them. I bought dollar store crayons and plastic drinking cups. Hot glue the crayons around the cup, fold an old measuring tape (or ribbon would be fine) and use hot glue to make it look like a bow. Add some flowering plants. These took 28 crayons per cup and one measuring tape did all three.

I also did these for track coaches. The water bottles are filled with track appropriate snacks, but you could fill them with classroom supplies or even self-care items (lotion, a manicure kit, etc). I actually shifted the letters from TEACH to make COACH.

I looked for a children's book that had an especially meaningful message; all three of my girls had different personalities and I found books that captured each one or reminded me of the relationship that they had with the teacher. Then I wrote a letter to the teacher and taped it inside the book, thanking her for the time and effort she spent helping my child to grow and develop and expressing my sincere gratitude for taking such wonderful care of my baby so that I could do what I needed to do without worry.

That always went over pretty well, wasn't too expensive and made me feel really good to be able to recognize the teacher in a personal way. Even if it made both of us cry like babies!

ETA: and you could have your daughter draw a picture inside the cover and sign her name or put her handprints inside.
