Well I met her at a topless place…whoops, I mean a tapas place for some Spanish treats and sangria the other night. I’m not really interested in a dating situation but she could possibly change my mind as she made make me laugh and that is priority number one on my priority list. I know I know, faithfulness, trustworthiness etc etc not to mention a nice buttocks region are important, but if I’m bored, I don’t make it far enough to worry about those sort of things. Why tell me a good “there once was a man from Nantucket” limerick and I’m yours…no just joshing. I just love using the word “joshing” don’t you?

So now the part all one of you have been waiting for (thanks for caring Lostly, I’ll send you some sangria), the infamous OM part of this story. Well as it turns out, he is a very minor business contact in her life and well that’s about all there is to tell. He did mention to her that I, my X, and he had a little issue a number of years back…actually I don’t know how much detail he went into and quite frankly I don’t give a flying tapa as I had spent way too much mental time in the past wondering how big his dork was or how I was going to cut his dork off or…well you probably get the drift. One magical day, I came to the realization that it was time to live without the anger and bitter and simply enjoy sitting at the bar eating tapas with an exciting woman and live my life without all the “stuff.” Let the shit go, wipe it off, it can be wiped off you know.

Did the man from Nantucket end up eating at Phuket thai...?

The topless place gets reserved for the third date I assume.

Just joshing!

I think this sounds very interesting! Are you going to ask for a second date and see if she still makes you laugh?

And...did you make her laugh?

huh? what? You mean I was suppose to be concerned that she enjoyed herself OH OH. But in my defense, I am a man after all. Hey, wait just a minute here...I did bring out my go to not joke. You know where you say something that is obviously just wrong and then hesitate for a few beats and then say NOT real loud. Hilarious right? How could she not have liked that?

Great story! Hope it keeps getting better. As a City dweller myself, I often make my dining decisions based on where I am able to park.

I love your tagline asurvivor - it is perfect and succinct way to articulate what we are all doing.

I'm so with you on the 'make me laugh and we're halfway there' part too. Another biggie is 'getting' my quirky sense of humour. If I crack a funny and you don't get it I don't worry about having not nailed it (because I SO did) - I just figure you're not the dude for me.

quite frankly I don’t give a flying tapa as I had spent way too much mental time in the past wondering how big his dork was or how I was going to cut his dork off or…well you probably get the drift. One magical day, I came to the realization that it was time to live without the anger and bitter and simply enjoy sitting at the bar eating tapas with an exciting woman and live my life without all the “stuff.” Let the shit go, wipe it off, it can be wiped off you know.

^^THIS made me laugh out loud and do a fist pump in the air. Love it and its so true.

He's still a fuckwit whether or not I stab myself in the leg with a fork about what a fuckwit he is so I'm better off leaving him to his fuckwitery and leave the forking for other endeavours.

You sure did have a "little issue" - he is a little issue.

I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

I am so pleased, asurvivor, and have a big, fat, wide smile on my face! Thanks so much for making me actually laugh out loud on a rather stressful day. You have a way with words that create quite the visual!

Who knows, maybe this is the beginning of a wonderful love story, and, if the so, what a brilliant opening act.

Do keep us posted, I will be checking often for updates. I must ask, though, that you perhaps consider sharing the classic 'go to NOT' joke.......ya know, morbid curiously and all...

Ok well as long as you asked here it is: "I think NOT jokes are fresh and incredibly funny and should be used at every opportunity," pause pause pause "NOT"

I cringed even writing that
