Running blisters are my second least favorite thing about running; the first one is having to sit on my butt until stupid blister heals. Ugh! I so wanted to go for a second run this afternoon

Have you invested in any running socks? Everyone stresses the importance of shoes, but I also need a snug fitting, fast drying sock.

It only happens when I run outdoors I'm blaming the Texas heat

I second the socks... you need non-cotton, moisture wicking socks...

I wear them here in Florida and no more blisters!

You are better than me! I was raised in Georgia and can barely run now in the heat; and I'm spoiled up here with Northern Summers! Keep up the hard work.

One word: Moleskin.

(You can find it a your local Walgreens, CVS or Walmart)

It's amazing!

You just snip out a little piece of it and place it on top of the blister. It was the only way I got through day 2 and day 3 of the Susan G. Komen 3 Day. Also- second the wicking socks. Target has a nice off brand that isn't as expensive as the sport stores and there is sometimes a coupon on the Cartwheel app.

It's important to heal yourself in a healthy way from all hurt or it will hurt you and the ones you love more than the original hurt before.

Sometimes it helps to wear two layers of socks. A form fitting sock closer to your skin and then a regular sock at the shoe. This makes the friction point to be between the socks instead of your skin. Serious hikers usually wear two layers to cut down on blisters. You don't want a blister miles from civilization.

Even better than moleskin, IMO, are the Doctor Scholl's Blister Block bandages. They are waterproof, smudge proof, and actually stay on and help the blisters heal. You leave them on until they come off on their own (usually 4-5 days).

My mom swears by moleskin. She runs in the humidity too.
