But in the end, it doesn't even matter . . .

I used to love this song, and still do love the music and the rhythm of it . . . but the words cut right to the bone. One day a song is on your playlist, and the next it is . . . not.

In the End ~Linkin Park

It starts with one thing
I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind
I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time
All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away

It's so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on, but you didn't even know
Wasted it all just to watch you go
I kept everything inside

And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me
Will eventually be a memory of a time when

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

One thing, I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind
I designed this rhyme
To remind myself of a time when
I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I'm surprised it got so
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me in the end
You kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There's only one thing you should know
I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
For all this
There's only one thing you should know
I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

The other one I adopted/adapted the title to mean what I wanted it to mean when I met my wife: truly I would never be the same again. After the affair I realized that the affair was what it was all about . . .

I Will Never Be The Same ~Melissa Etheridge

So you walked with me for a while
Bared your naked soul
And you told me of your plan
How you would never let them know
In the morning of the night
You cried a long lost child
And I tried oh I tried to hold you
But you were young
And you were wild

But, I , I will never be the same
Oh, I , I will never be the same
Caught in your eyes
Lost in your name
I will never be the same

Secrets of your life
I never wanted for myself
But you guarded them like a lie
Placed up on the highest shelf
In the morning of the night
When I woke to find you gone
I knew your distant devil
Must be draggin' you along

But, I , I will never be the same
Oh, I , I will never be the same
Caught in your eyes
Lost in your name
I will never be the same

And you swore that you were bound for glory
And for wanting you had no shame
But I loved you
And then I lost you
And I will never be the same

There's a lot of songs that mean totally different things now for me. Meatloaf for example.

Linkin park was a fav.

Meatloaf for sure. Saw him in concert. Amazing. Thing with Meatloaf is that Bat outta hell back into hell had alot of good "oh fuck'm" songs.

The only songs that bother me now are ones that until I experienced being a Bs the words didn't really hit me. Angel by Nickelback. Or is that Lips of an angel? Whatever. Hate that song.

What NTV said... some songs are off the list, others mean more/less to me, some I like now haha (Problem by Ariana Grande)... and so on... music is hard- it cuts through all the bull and goes straight to the heart so it reaches our emotions faster than our thinking does. But it can be healing too... in the midst of the sad/reminder songs on the playlist, put some good, "new" ones- whether they're totally new, or new-meaning... it helps with the healing and grieving and rebuilding. (((One)))

eta fixing typos cause eye tipe two fast and dunt ed it...
