I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though I went into it with a "meh" attitude. kind of a mix (in style and content) between green mile and shawshank.
From time to time, I do consider that I might be mad. Like any self-respecting lunatic, however, I am always quick to dismiss any doubts about my sanity. DK

I loved it. I grew up in the 60s, so it was a walk down memory lane for me. I loved the ending.I am not a King fan, except for The Stand-a fabulous allegory, so I also approached this book hesitantly.

I'm willing to give it a try but I haven't read it yet. I've had a few King books that I loved, and then a few that were just readable. If I'm in the airport, and get delayed I can't always count on a King book to pass the time, but I wouldn't say I am a fan.
This one though does look interesting!

I am watching The Stand as we speak, although the book is much better.

I'm reading now on my NOOK; I even pre-paid for it before it was released. I love SK; I'm so psyched about it, I don't want to read it because I don't want it to be over...
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

I'm not a SK fan but I really enjoyed this book. The blending of historical facts and sci-fi fantasy was very engaging. But... Not everyone from Dallas is a hater! There are some good things and sweet people in the big D.

Just starting it now. My kids gave it to me for my birthday. I'm looking forward to it, as I normally enjoy SK's work, and the idea for this one sounds interesting.
I also just got an ereader for my birthday...so I wanna play with it!

my wife is listening to the audio version of the book, 25 CDs.
She usually finds King too descriptive in previous books but she is enjoying this one. Perhaps since she is listening to it rather than reading it.
I plan on reading it this summer while on vacation.

I listened to the audio version and liked it more than I thought I would. I haven't read SK since I was a young teenager!
The bad: I'd forgotten how he can take forEVER to get to a point, and sometimes 5 minutes of action would take 45 minutes to explain. I didn't mind that as much when I was 14 as I do as an adult.
The good: I somehow shook off my adult impatience and let SK do his thing and tell his story in his own time, and it was really satisfying! No horror, more just time travel stuff mixed with history and a lot of JFK assassination detail that I found really interesting.
He had a brief shout out to some It characters, and that was cool.
I've been really into audio books lately and it helps me when someone includes in their review if they liked the narrator of the audio version, and in this case I really did.

I think it was a good overall story and it had a good ending.
The negative for me is that he droned on with too much minutia about Oswald's daily life. I skipped over pages at a time and don't think I missed anything.
